Stash Report - January 30th

This is the last stash report for January.  I'm doing OK.  Not as far along on projects as I would have liked, but at least I've made progress on a number of fronts.  Here are this week's numbers.

Used this week: 0.51 yards
Added this week: 0 yards

Used year to date:  2.02 yards
Added year to date: 0 yards

Net used for 2011:  2.02 yards

Fabric Budget:  10 yards for Jan to March
Bought/Budget: 0/10 yards

I've been fairly diligent in getting to my sewing room for 15 minutes every day this last week.  Plus I've started working on several projects at once.  One of the PhDs I need to finish is a Buck-A-Block BOM.  Since the strips are cut, it's pretty quick to get all the squares cut and then sew the HST using the Thangles.  So my out numbers look a bit better than they have.

Still no fabric in.  Next weekend is going to be a challenge though.  Two of the shops near me are having Super Bowl sales, one with 25% off all fabric, the other with 20% off fabric, books and gadgets.  If I go, my plan is to go with a strategy.  Focus on backing fabrics for current projects and blenders that will make my stash more flexible.  Check back next week to see how well I resisted temptation.

That's it for this week.  How's your stash busting going?  Check out this week's Patchwork Times for other updates.

You havent bought fabric in what 12weeks ? longer? I think you deserve to buy some new pretties and if you must go with strategy what you've outlined seems sound to me.

And if you see something you just have to have -then so be it.

I have a million ideas at the moment but Im working on getting existing projects done. I figure in about two weeks I can start ripping into my stash.

You are going great - and I agree that a planned strategy for purchases is good. Blenders are a good way to go.

Have fun this week with the snow & ice storm. They are predicting 6+ inches for OKC, how is it for your neck of the woods?

Blenders are necessary so that would be a great way to use your fabric budget.

I agree - next weekend is going to be super tough with all of the superbowl sales. I'm a little worried myself. Good job on no new fabric so far!
