Did you have a family celebration for Easter? We didn't this year, we mostly just hung out at home for the weekend. I spent the afternoon in the sewing room working to finish the last border for the Malted Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs).
The dark blue used in the border looks black, it's just hard to photograph it accurately under the lighting conditions in my sewing room. This is one of my favorite Meadow Mist Designs mystery designs from Cheryl. It kept me guessing. I wondered where we going to use those blocks in the last border.
This is my third finished quilt top for the year. The mystery started in July of last year, with the last clue posted in March. This may be the first time I've actually finished assembling a mystery quilt the month the clue was issued. Being retired definitely has improved my ability to keep up.
Malted Mystery is my last "deadline" project. The plan for the next few months is to concentrate on finishing off the five quilt tops that are now hanging in the closet. Several of those will be going out for quilting, but there are two I want to try quilting myself. I'll be linking up with the Malted Mystery quilt parade. Also linking up with Design Wall Monday and Patchwork & Quilts.

Kudos to you for not only having the faith to make a Mystery Quilt but also finishing the flimsy. How do you know you will like the finished design? In this case, the blues and aquas look very serene together. Wishing you loads of sewing mojo to complete your goals.
Your quilt is beautiful! This year's mystery quilt was a great design. Happy stitching!
I've enjoyed seeing your progress on Cheryl's pretty design, and I love the colors.
Looks like you are under the same "Enhanced" risk of severe weather that we are today. Stay safe!
I like your quilt and the dark blue does look black on my computer screen. We just stayed home and enjoyed the quiet.
We did the same as you - just hung out at home. Both daughters' families did their own thing too.
Love how this quilt turned out. Wow!!
Sometimes a low-key at-home day is the best way to celebrate a holiday. Hooray for the Malted finish!
Oh, it finished beautifully. Congratulations on getting the top pieced the same month the instructions for it came out! I hope you have fun working on getting your quilt tops finished over the coming months. :)
Your Malted Mystery top looks fantastic!
Wow, this is such a lovely quilt, I love the soft colors. Congratulations on having finished it so quickly! Will you quilt it by yourself?
Thank you for sharing!
This turned out beautifully, Kate. Just gorgeous. And congratulations on three finishes in three months. You’re on a roll!
You and I both have three finishes for the year - that is one per month.
Congratulations on finishing in the month it ended. It is lovely, but I am biased because I love blues.
It is great that you have tops hanging in the closet ready for quilting. I too prefer to hang mine.
Enjoy your week.
I smiled at the mental image of your quilt tops hanging in the closet in readiness for quilting. Your Mystery quilt top is beautiful!
