Is it really week 43 of 2016? As I typed this blog title, my mind was in complete denial. It really can't be that late in the year can it? But since we've only got one week left in October, I suppose that's really where we are. I'm so not ready for the end of another year!
I was playing with the idea of a solo sewing retreat today. With all the holiday stuff coming up, this may be my last chance for one till after the holidays. So that settles it, I'm going to go play for the day. First on the list is to finish off the binding on Allietare.
This is all I've got left to go on hand stitching the binding. I would have finished up last night, but it was getting late. This won't take long at all. Then I can claim my third finish for the year.
Spending the day in my sewing room should help me recover from what this week's mail brought.
Some very pretty blue half yard cuts arrived from last month's give away for the Shadow Box Mini Blog Hop sponsored by Janice who blogs at Color Creating and Quilting. No plans for these three pieces, but I'm sure they'll get used in one of my scrappy projects for next year.
Here's how the stash report stands now:
Used last week: 0.55 yards
Used year to date: 49.77 yards
Added year to date: 47.59 yards
Net used in 2016: 2.17 yards
I'm still in the black for the year. My goal is to just use more than I add, so I'm still good on that front. There are plans for binding one more quilt and making the backing for another, so there should be another big jump in stash going out in the next few weeks.
I did pretty well on finding time to stitch this week, though I ended up snubbing the sewing room for a good book on Monday. But having extra time to sew on Thursday and Friday made up for my lapse there.
Days in the sewing room this week: 6 out of 7 days
Days in October: 21 out of 22 days
Days in 2016: 236 out of 296 days
I'm going to check out who's doing Slow Stitching Sunday and follow up on a few Stash Reports before my self-imposed exile to the sewing room. Have a great Sunday.

Oh those fabrics are beautiful. I can't wait to see how you use them. Your binding will be finished in no time. I am looking forward to seeing that finished quilt also. Enjoy your stitching.
I said the same thing to my dil earlier this week where has the year gone! Sometimes we just have to hide in our sewing rooms and get refreshed!
Great idea for a "personal retreat" sewing day. I need to cut fabrics for projects and i think myretreat would be GO!BABY and me!! Hugs, Julierose P.S. Very pretty blue fabrics you have to play with there...
Personal retreat sounds good. And I know what you mean about where did it go so fast. I like your tracking time in addition to stash. I like that idea, how do you do your tracking?
Have a terrific day in the sewing room!
Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day!
Congratulations on your finish and on the pretty fabric you won! A personal retreat sounds like a great way to spend the day.

You are making so much progress! It really is amazing how a little time every days adds up to finishes. A personal retreat day sounds fantastic! :)
A full day spent in the sewing room sounds like heaven to me. Hope your day was enjoyable and productive.
