I can finally report that Vintage Dresses is all caught up for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. The second yellow dress was finished last night.

I love the pink rose print, it made a very simple, but sweet little dress. Something one could wear to a garden or tea party. I've always wanted to do one of those fancy tea parties, but Drama Teen being the Tom Boy that she is refuses to even consider attending such a fussy affair.
Here's both yellow dresses.
So I'm officially caught up after 6 months of being behind a month. This year, Angela is giving us November and December to actually finish our quilts. This quilt has already been claimed by DT for one of her friends that is graduating from college in 2018. To be honest, it's perfect for her. If I stop with the blocks I have, the quilt's not quite big enough to cuddle under. My original plan needs 5 more blocks. After playing around in EQ, I've decided it really needs the additional blocks. I've not used magenta or black yet so I'll add blocks with those colors. Not sure what I'm going to do about the 5th dress. I've got some rainbow prints in my scarp stash, so that's a possibility. Here's the most likely setting as of now.
The blocks will get moved around a bit, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the colored frame around each block. I've stuck a plain border on there for now, but I'm contemplating some changes there too. It's a good starting point though.
Linking up with Socrappy for the end of the regular season for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. On Sunday I'll be checking out the links for Oh Scrap over at Quilting is More Fun Than Housework.

Love your dresses and the setting you have planned is a wonderful way to showcase them.
I love these dress blocks! They must take an age to make, but so pretty!
You only have 5 more to go!!!! I will really miss seeing your pretty dresses when you are finished. I look forward to these!
You know how much I love this one. Can't wait to see it finished. Good to know we have two months off because I'm two months behind!
OMG what a project! I would love love LOVE to receive this quilt... hope she appreciates all the work in it. The dresses have all been lovely. I miss my waistline, but would have worn any of them in my twenties. I was the only woman in first year of college running around in the sundresses like yours, as all the others were scuffing around in cut off jeans. I got attention from the boys! LeeAnna
These blocks look so great! This quilt will be adorable.
Kate, those dresses are going to make an amazing quilt! I love the latest yellow one - that is the perfect fabric for a dress! It will make a great graduation gift for the lucky recipient!
The colored frame looks splendid, as do all your dresses. I can't wait to see what comes next!
So cute, and such a great layout for your dresses. I really like the frames and sashing you've designed. It almost makes each one look like a shop window. How about some aqua/turquoise for the last color, like the pleats in the blue dress in the bottom row?
I love the idea of a "little black dress" to join the collection! How about adding some tiny pearls to make it super sophisticated? Your layout is perfect. Good luck getting the rest done!
Wow, what a great quilt this is going to be! That yellow floral dress turned out sooooo cute. And perhaps you could consider an aqua/teal dress in there somewhere? I love the idea of the frames - every bit of this quilt will be amazing!!
All the dresses are so beautiful! You do know that a girl has to have accessories (purse, shoes) to complete her look. Maybe you could add a block or two that way to fill up the blocks? Just a thought ...
OH my goodness I love the frames! That's going to be stunning when it's done. And I'm going to miss seeing the dresses.
The frames are truly a must!!! Every girl needs an lbd (little black dress) so I hope you include one and every girl dreams of a white wedding dress (maybe with lace). How about that idea? I too shall miss seeing your dresses each month. Maybe you'll have to make another one for yourself.
I love all the dresses and the fact that you stayed with the plan--and the frames are just the right setting off point--love them--keep going--
love and laughter, di
Your dresses are so sweet! They make me smile big every time I see the new ones you have done! What a lucky friend DT has for her to grab the quilt! (And what a nice friend DT is to want to give this to her friend!)
MARVELOUS!!!
Gorgeous! I really love the latest yellow rose dress, perfect for a garden party!
The roses dress tops the best of all the dresses, just lovely. Making five more would turn out a very fine quilt. Keep up the good work!
Love your dresses, and adore the setting you've chosen! This is going to be a wonderful quilt!!!! (lynnstck[at]yahoo.com)
Yet another beautiful dress; the rose print is perfect! I like the setting that you are planning for your blocks. Congrats on getting caught up!
It's been fun watching this come together!
Love how you have the dresses laid out. The setting is great idea. It is coming together very well. All of your dresses are so much fun. Great color choices and great fabrics.
Giving each little perfect dress its own frame is an absolutely wonderful idea! The quilt will be gorgeous!
And add me to the list of folks who will miss seeing your dresses each month!
I am transported looking at all these beautiful dresses! I admire how you have stuck with it and always love seeing them! Just amazing!
