There wasn't a lot of sewing room time even though I was off work. There was lots of prep work that went along with all the family time. But I did get in some time with the embroidery project.
The wording around the right corner of the project is now done. I'll start working on the diagonal moving to the left. The next bit in the hoop will be the leaves there in the corner.
I wasn't able to get back into the sewing room till after dinner on Saturday. Making a start on the first clue from Bonnie Hunter's Frolic was the goal. I wasn't completely happy with my "raspberry" fabric. After taking another look through the stash, I found a substitute, but it needed to be washed, dried and pressed first. That out of the way, I was able to get in a few 4-patches Sunday afternoon.

I should have some time to catch up next weekend. I decided to half the number of blocks to start. I'm hoping that means it will be easier to keep up with the clues this year.
Lastly, there was some progress on clue 3 for the Winter Quilt Along.

Not all the blocks in each row are sewn together, but at least I got a good start on assembly. Clue 2 hasn't been finished yet, but I reached the halfway point with that clue.
Not bad for a week away from the sewing machine. Linking up with the Monday Design Wall.

I haven't seen an embroidery piece like yours in years. I used to love making those items. Your first clue of Frolic looks great.
Your hand stitching is beautiful and it looks like you're off to a great start with the mystery QAL!
I am making my Frolic a 1/3-1/2 in size. So I am finished with my estimated number on the 4 patches. I am rethinking my aqua/turq color, so not sure what I will replace it with. I might have to wait and see what it gets paired with.
I think you are doing amazing! THe colors for the Bonnie quilt are beautiful and YAY for the Winter Quilt a long steps - you will be there quickly!!
Pretty fabrics for your Frolic. They remind me of the ones I used in Semper FI. I love how those blues and reds look together.
Glad to see another Frolic maker! Thanksgiving is a busy weekend to start a quilt, and I'm sure you'll catch up. Bonnie always sucks me in with an easy first clue.
I find that an amazing amount of work done actually especially considering you didn't start until later on Saturday evening. I like your raspberry color. I've been collecting the Winter Quilt Along instructions -- I'll probably make it in January or so. I need to acquire some more blues and red fabrics.
Maybe your week at work will be OK. But I have found when I have a feeling that a day is not going right - IT WILL NOT GO RIGHT! LOL
Your projects are pretty - I will watch your progress on BH BOM.
Very pretty embroidery, it looks like a nice and travel project.
Wonderful to see you are having a few moments for hand stitching!
Your new raspberry is pretty!
Sounds like a great week off! I look forward to seeing your mystery quilt progress.
