Do you have things in your house that you see every day, but don't really see? The power went out for a few minutes last weekend, when it came back on, I realized the lights were on in the china cabinet. I went to turn off the lights and realized just how sparkly everything was with the lights on. I walk by this cabinet several times a day, but I don't look at what's in it.

Its a very simple pattern called Hancock. It took
The glasses were a gift from my sister many years ago. I like the sparkle.
This wine glass is the newest addition to the china cabinet. It's signed by all of Kiddo's classmates from school. It was the class auction project for last year that My Guy so very successfully bid on. There is a whole set of glasses, but we have just the one in the cabinet.
I'm not much of one for nick-knacks, but the seated bride was given to me by my sister right before I was married. She told me it reminded her of me. I never quite figured that out, I never looked anything like that (other then being a brunette). So of course, this piece is one of my favorites.
Next to the bride is our wedding picture. My bouquet was yellow roses, so the frame was very appropriate (another gift from my sister). One of my sister-in-laws took the picture. We had asked her to shoot black and white film for the wedding. You know I've been married a while, you could still get black and white film developed when we were married (and there were still film cameras). This picture is our favorite from the ceremony.
So those are my favorites this week. Maybe I should turn the lights on more often, no telling what other favorite things are lurking in the shadows around here. Check out Quilting in my Pyjamas for more spotlighted favorites.

Great favourites Kate. I love your china...beautiful and all your other treasures. What a sweet sister you have. You had to get film developed when I got married too. LOL!
What a beautiful cabinet, with lots of wonderul treasures!
That is a cabinet full of memories. Great choice for FTF.
That's a beautiful cabinet, and filled with so much beauty and memories. Love your treasures too.
Your china is simple and elegant at the same time. Lovely.
Lovely china cabinet and china in it. You must do a lot of dusting...don't think I could have one of those in my house it would just remind me that I should dust more.
Yes, I can see why this is a favourit too. A cabilnet full of lovely memories.
Cheers
Helen
What a lovely cabinet. Cabinets are always interesting.
Your china is beautiful! I know what you mean about walking by things. I have a hutch with meaningful knick-knacks that I walk by quite a few times a day. I seldom really look at them until they need dusting.
Wow so many pretty, sparkly things! Great FTF :)
xx
Beautiful favourite, Kate! Your china is so pretty. And all your wedding memorabilia adds just the right touch to your display. Love that bride! ☺ Thanks for sharing. Happy FTF!
PS...I'm glad it's Friday too! I'm ready for the week to be finished.
Thank you for the wonderful trip down your memory lane. Everything is so lovely. :)
That is a beautiful china cabinet! I like your yellow-rose framed b&w wedding photo. Things I "see" but don't see on a daily basis include dust and dirt, LOL. Happy FTF!
It's true; we do tend to take most of our stuff for granted - except when we can't find something! ;-)
Isnt it funny how we just walk past our belongings every day and dont "see " them . I loved looking at your treasure cabinet!
Your wedding china is very simple and elegant and the glasses match perfectly.
I love Kiddo's class project. Lucky Mr. Kate won that auction.
great favorite, Kate!
I hope you occasionally use all of your treasures!
Very nice, Kate! It is nice to stop and enjoy your pretties in the light now and then :) We chose stoneware that we use daily but also have MIL's fancy china--though not in a lovely cabinet like yours! Love the B&W photo :)
