The weather people certainly called it this weekend. We had lots and lots of rain. The rain didn't break till mid afternoon Sunday, that probably made for some pretty soggy egg hunts in our area. Sunday was definitely a day for a good nap and lots of sewing room time. When the sun finally came out in the late afternoon, it seemed like a good time to get the documentation shots of the most recently completed quilt top.
On Ringo Lake was the 2017 Bonnie Hunter mystery. I didn't use the pieced sashing from the quilt along, a simple sashing with corner stones worked out pretty well. The yellow didn't photograph the best, it's a lot brighter in real life than it photographed yesterday. I'm pretty happy with how this quilt came together. I'm hoping to get it quilted in the near future.
One of my unofficial goals for 2025 is to get all of my Bonnie Hunter mystery quilts to finished quilt tops this year. I've started 13 BH mysteries. Of those 7 are finished quilts, 3 are now quilt tops and 3 still need the blocks made. With On Ringo Lake moved to the to be quilted list, I've gone back to working on the 2024 BH mystery, Old Town. I'm still making making block components for it, so it's going to take a bit to get it to finished quilt top.

It's a beautiful finish! The sashing and cornerstones created a neat secondary design.
I like your version of On Ringo Lake. Bonnie likes to make very scrappy quilt but so often I can't see the design. I can clearly see the design in your quilt, happy stitching!
LOVE it!!!! Hope the rain has soaked in and made everything green!! but that quilt - that was worth the rain making you stay inside and stitch!
Congratulations on the quilt top finish, Kate, and good luck getting the next 3 BH mystery quilts pieced this year, too!
ORL is a blast from the past! I enjoy seeing your take on the QV mysteries.
On Ringo Lake is a beauty, Kate! I love your colors, and those borders finished it up perfectly. I admire your goal to finish those BH mystery projects - they are a lot of work, but look to be so worth it in the end!
Gorgeous! Those colors are so rich. Wish you could send a little of that rain our way.
that is a good looking quilt top
Oh my gosh! That is gorgeous!
On Ringo Lake looks amazing, Kate! I am cheering you on in respect to your goal to finish the BH mysteries into tops.
Congratulations on getting another quilt top together. Your version of On Ringo Lake is beautiful! It's always fun to see a non-scrappy version of Bonnie's designs.
Congratulations on your finish! Looks great, and I bet it feels good to add a finish to your stats.
Oh my goodness, what a labor of love! It will be a fabulous quilt!
What a beautiful quilt! The bad weather is just the perfect excuse to sew ;)
