Today is the last day of our holiday vacation. My Guy heads back to work tomorrow and Grad Girl starts the trip back to Texas tomorrow. She'll go visit Grandma tomorrow afternoon, that will cut about two and half hours off the eight hour drive. I'm going to be really sad the rest of this week. Thankfully there are some new quilt alongs starting up soon. Hopefully getting ready for those will help me adjust to being home alone again.
There has been some stretches of stitching time this week between Christmas and New Years. The big accomplishment was finishing off the November clue for the Meadow Mist Designs Melodic Mystery quilt along.
That's quite a pile of flying geese. I'm still working on the December clue. But it should be close to finished by the time the January clue comes out on Thursday.
I'm not doing so well at keeping up with the Bonnie Hunter Chilhowie mystery. I've managed to finish clue 1 and clue 2 is almost finished.
The hold up is those hourglass blocks. I'm going to need to start adding more sets to my string piecing line up. That should be easier to do as I complete more of the previous clues.
That's my progress for this week. Linking up with the Monday Design Wall and Patchwork & Quilts.

You always amaze me in how much you get done on your quilts -- for pity sake, you work a full time job. Save the clues and keep plugging away at them. Here's hoping you have fun with your quilting. I always enjoy reading about what you are doing.
I love the colors you are using in both of your mystery projects. It is hard to keep up with Bonnie's mystery clues--so many pieces!
I save Bonnie's instructions and then decide when it is done if I like it - if I don't I delete it all. Sounds like you need to keep busy - empty nest syndrome and the girl is heading back to school and you are not working now - keep busy!
I know that sad feeling. I even feel that way when our daughter leaves, and she only lives 55 miles away! Chilhowie is really making a pretty quilt. Best of wishes for a great 2023!
I hope you enjoy your last day with your husband and Grad girl. Looks like you made some good progress over the last week.
It is sad when the family fun time is over. But we have lots of wonderful memories to comfort us while we stitch! Enjoy your mystery block making. I'm excited to see how your Chilowie blocks come together
If it makes you feel better, you're ahead of me on both quilts. I haven't started either because I was trying to finish my RSC projects and some UFOs. I think your mysteries will turn out great.
Visiting via the linky party! Bonnie Hunter is quite a phenomenal quilter! Look forward to seeing your progress.
I am still contemplating on where I am going in 2023 with quilting priorities! You are on a roll! My husband's family line is from Oklahoma - they are Choctaws. I love Oklahoma and their people! Have a great 2023! Hugs (We are in South Texas area)
You are much more disciplined than I am. Every time I think I have my quilting priorities set up, something else crosses my path. LOL Safe travels to Grad Girl on her trip back to school.
I am so glad you were all able to be together tho - Hopefully stitching will ease the lonely ;-)
I am so glad that Grad girl was in for a holiday visit; it will take a few days to get back into your routine, but you do have some fabulous projects going on to ease your mind a bit. Have a very lovely week, Kate.
