It's been both wet and steamy here this weekend. It really rained yesterday morning, so of course when the sun came out the humidity went through the roof. Unfortunately, I had lots of errands to run on Saturday. The Scientist in Training and I were wishing the car air conditioner would cool off faster after each stop.
Before moving on to the stitching report, I have an update for those that follow Life in Pieces via email. It's been a bit rocky navigating sending out the blog via RSS feed with Mailchimp. I discovered yesterday that Mailchimp has a limit of 10,000 emails per month for their free service and I've exceeded that limit. The cost for additional credits to send out more emails is prohibitive. I'm looking for an alternative service, but that's taking some time. The free service resets on August 2nd. If I don't find a solution before then, the RSS feed is now set to go out weekly on Tuesday mornings.
Now on, to the stitching stuff. I had a pretty good week.
- 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
- 15 minute days/July = 17/17 days
- 15 minute days/2021 =172/198 days
- Success rate = 86.87 days
I'm back on track with meeting my goal of stitching 85% of the days in 2021. I still have one item to check off my to do list for the week. I'm hoping to get to that this afternoon.
One of the nice things caused by all the rain is the profusion of wildflowers.
and Basket Flowers.
Did you find lots of stitching time this week?

I had that exact same experience with Mailchimp. Check into Follow. It which is what I’ve been using. It’s a free service, although you can pay for a few additional features if you like. They were extremely helpful getting me set up, and I’ve been using it for about two months. It’s working great.
Congrats for beeing back on track!
Beautiful bright flowers.
I am not a fan of humidity!!
and I just come direct to your blog - its so fun to see what you are up to!
We've had lots of hot and humid weather here too, but that's normal for GA in the summer. I don't deal with it very well and tend to hide in the sewing room whenever possible.
Congrats on getting your stitching numbers back up above your goal. You always have such fantastic flower photos!
We don't have Indian Blankets -- your photo is beautiful! Is Basket Flower another name for Bergamot (monarda)?
I love love the photo of the basket flower--how pretty!!
and living in Fl you do get some used to the humidity--and here near the ocean (only 3 miles due east) we do have a nice breeze most days for sitting outside--so I am lucky!!
have a great sewy week--
luv, di
lots of changes in Nascar--new teams--drivers changing teams already for next year--hard to keep up with it all right now! And at least this year we have had lots of winners--think 12 so far--and Denny and Kevin haven't have even one a race so far this year--last year they each won like 9 each!!
Gorgeous flowers! I’m happy to say that I had a very productive sewing week.
Your flower photos are beautiful, Kate! I follow you on Feedly, so there are alternatives to the email issue. Hopefully other followers will figure that out, too!
Ohhh, pretty flowers. Love that Indian Blanket, never heard of/seen that before. Well done on the stitching! Good luck with the email. I haven't had the heart to face it yet. But, I only have 3 followers. BWA HA HA HA. And one of those is my Mother!
So nice that you are back on track with your stitching time. Such pretty flowers.
Lovely flowers, hope that you’ve had a break from the humidity in the last few weeks!
