Stitching Time: Week 10 0f 2021

The weather is starting to show signs of spring. It was warm enough to get back to our evening walk several nights this week.  I still managed to fit in my stitching time as well.

  • 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
  • 15 minute days/Feb = 28/28 days
  • 15 minute days/March = 6/6 days
  • 15 minute days/2021 = 62/64 days
  • Success rate = 96.88%
Most of my stitching time this week was spent on hand stitching down the binding for the Red, White and Blue Stars quilt.  I finished that off Friday night, so Saturday I was able to empty the project boxes.

There were two project boxes dedicated to this quilt.  One had yardage the other had the fat quarters and left over strips, plus the book containing the instructions for making the star blocks.  Everything got put away into the right bin and now I have two empty project boxes.

Some of my other boxes have multiple projects in them. I should probably go through the boxes and at least separate out the ones that are on this year's quilt plan.

What are you working on in your sewing room? Organization or stitching? Both? Were you able to work in your 15 minutes most days?

Is that your leftover fabric from the project or before you started it? I emptied a project box this week too and it gave me a thrill of accomplishment. I need to get out more. lol I need a better place to store my project boxes so I probably should organize them.

That is such a pretty collection of red and white fabrics together. Congrats on emptying out two project bins. I'm not so good at taking care of the leftovers from my projects.

I have numerous empty project boxes going on right now as the three current RSC quilts that I am making have blocks too large for them. I need to go through the boxes organize other things

Kate, I love your Grassy Creek piece...interesting colours playing together well. I admire how you can choose what will be so pleasing to the eye. I spend ages on that and still second guess what I pick. Yes, such satisfaction when a project is almost done and binding is great lap stitching.

Oh I love it when I can empty the box - although a part of me is still worried I have missed something haha

I need to start using project boxes, instead I have a cart with wire trays I try to use, but that ends up full of fabrics that need to be put away and I just stuff them in the cart so I don't have them piled on my tables. Maybe I should do some organizing? LOL

Hi,
Great job on getting a project out of the bin. If I had those
2 bins, they would be filled faster than you can blink.
Have a great day!

Well done on your stitching time. Happy you are getting out for walks. I'm doing great squeezing in at least 15-minutes every day for a lot of days this year. Congratulations on emptying the project boxes!

Our weather has warmed up too, and we have been walking as well. How wonderful that you have two empty project boxes. That would give me great temptation to start a new quilt!

Two empty bins - hooray!!! I am betting it feels fantastic! Just last night I was making note of all of my empty ones. Perhaps I could get rid of at least one piece of furniture holding projects in my small space if I organized a bit. That would be great!

You are very organised, I'm sure if I went to find some of my UFO I wouldn't have the book and fabric all in one place. Great finish.

Red and white quilt pieces and empty project boxes are my favourite things to see. Well done
