Can you believe it's November? It didn't really hit me till I had to create a new file folder this morning for yesterday's sewing room photos. Just a little over three weeks to Thanksgiving! I'm not thinking about it. As much as I'd like to get 2020 over with, I'm still hoping to get a few more projects off the UFO list before we get to 2021. There was good progress on that goal this weekend.
Red, White and Blue Stars, Setting self designed |
The Red, White and Blue Star blocks are all sewn together. I'm happy with how this quilt is coming together. The finishing plan calls for three borders. If I can stay focused, this project should be a finished quilt top by the end of the month. It's doubtful that it will get finished this year, but it would be a fun first finish for 2021.
However, finish number 5 is very likely to happen this month.
The 2019 Christmas Mystery Quilt (Christmas Time) is all trimmed, the label is made and pinned to the back. It's ready for binding. I should get the binding sewn to the front this week. It's a small quilt, but I may not get the hand stitching done this week. We'll see how much stitching time I actually get.
Linking up with Monday Making and the Monday Design Wall for the weekly show and tell.

The RWB Stars look great with the sashing added. Borders are boring to add, but will finish it off so beautifully!
I love how RWB Stars has come together! The sashing you added looks great! Are you planning to use the same fabrics for the borders?
The stars look fantastic. Can’t wait to see your Christmas quilt. It is weird being in November already. It’s as if the year has gone by, and we haven’t really lived it. I think we’re all kind of holding our breath right now.
Isn't it fun to reach that stage where you are ready for borders? you can see the end in sight, plus the design has really emerged. Good job!
I've been meaning to ask, where do you get the artwork for your labels?
I love those stars! .... Now to go back to see your Christmas quilt.
Oh it is looking so great!! Happy November!
It really hit me how close we are to the end of the year when I needed to print out a January 2021 calendar yesterday (I like to have a 3 month look of what I'm doing). The RWB quilt looks great and I hope you have fun working on the binding on the Christmas quilt. Have a lovely week! :)
Wonderful Red, White, and Blue. Not thinking about holidays over here at all. 😬😬
finished off really good
Your Red White and Blue Stars is gorgeous!
I can't believe it's already November either. The last few months have dragged, but I still can't believe the holidays are so near.
Closing in on a Holiday-themed project, Kate? SEW seasonally appropriate. Since Christmas is right around the corner! How did THAT happen???
Hum, you tease us with the Christmas Mystery quilt without showing the front. (My mind is whirling trying to remember if I've actually seen the front!) I sure hope you get your stars finished. I love your sashing with it. I'm always amazed at how much you seem to get done. November blew in. Today it is too windy to go outside... (whine, whine -- it isn't all that cold 45 degrees but we've been having so many days in the 60s and low 70s it feels cold to me!) Have a good week.
The red, white and blue stars quilt is fabulous!

You did an absolute perfect job on your RWB quilt - so striking and more borders to come! Hugs
The stars looks really great with their washing, can’t wait to see it with the borders. Hope this week isn’t too busy so that you have time for some hand stitching.
I absolutely love the quilt label!
