I did get in some sewing time, but there's not really much to show, most everything is just pieces at that moment. Unity is the only project up on the design walls.
Border strip 3 is half finished. I'm hoping step 4 goes faster than step 3 or I'll never finish this project!
Masks were also on the agenda for this weekend.

Two for me, one for My Guy, one for the SIT and one for a friend at work. My Guy likes the t-shirt ear loops and asked that I make him a few more to replace some of the early masks with elastic that aren't very comfortable. The SIT will have to wear one anytime she's on campus this fall, so she was asking for a few more for those weeks she doesn't get to laundry.
That's my progress for the week. Hope your week was more productive. Linking up with Monday Making and Design Wall Monday.

Your Unity quilt is really turning into something lovely. Now that you’ve turned the corner with the stars, I can really envision it. Looks great. I love all those fabrics in your masks. Weirdly, I keep thinking I should have a whole closet full, and I keep thinking I should make more. Don’t really need them though, so I’ve been making them for friends.
It's fun to see the progress on Unity, Kate! I like the border of sawtooth stars - even if it's only one star at a time!
I have a whole slew of masks to sew this week after some elastic gets delivered, too. It seems like it will be an ongoing cycle for us all for the foreseeable future. I hope you have a great week. Be well!
Your Unity quilt is progressing very nicely. I've talked with friends who got to a point and decided it was done. All I've seen are beautiful though as is yours. I'm waiting for cool weather before making many forays out in the world. Luckily the studio is in the basement and it generally stays nice and cool. Take care and I hope you get some more quilting time in. (And the desire to spend extra time quilting...some days I'm all full of getting things done and others not so much.)
Sometimes we need a slow week and then we can work with more energy the next week.
My DD has to have masks too. I've made so many different styles. Then, one of her roommates has been "adopted" by us and I am making her masks too. She has a small face, so I always need to adjust to a teen size when I make hers.
I noticed the last time I was at her apartment that they have some hanging by the door if someone comes in and they don't have a mask. I asked if they washed in-between times and was told yes. :)
This will be a different semester for college kiddos. Wishing them all luck and health while at school.
Your Unity quilt is looking great and coming along very nicely. Fortunately there's no deadline for getting it done. I think we are all tired of making masks.
Reminds me I need to make masks for the bridesmaids, since our state has mandated masks in all indoor locations. For me, I am throwing a scarf in my bag and I'll just drape it around my face or always have a drink/food in hand.
I need to make more masks, too. For not going outside the house much I feel like they get used really quickly after laundry day! Love yours in the science fabrics!
Always those darned masks! Unity is so striking, and coming along. My husband read from a reputable medical source (key) that you don't want to wash the masks too often, as the fabric deteriorates; in fact, do not wash them with each wear as if there was any virus on it doesn't last long (as I'm sure you know) on cloth. So we've stopped washing with every wear.
