Design Wall Monday - August 22nd

Not much change in my design wall over the last couple of weeks.  I'm still trying to get Flurry finished.

All that is left is the final borders.  Those should go on this week.

The last block needed for the purple and yellow quilt was finished yesterday.  I was using Bonnie Hunter's leaders and enders approach to piecing these blocks.  It's been slow, but it has made for steady progress on this UFO from 2006.

The first 5 rows are stowed away in the closet.  Once Flurry comes off the big design wall, I'll lay this one out and play around with the layout.  It might just get done before the end of the year.

  2. You are so close to the end of both of these great quilts. Sending good vibes to have them complete by the end of the year.

  3. Love both of them. I'm going to miss the purple and yellow one when you're done, for some reason that one really appeals to me. I'm going to have to look for purple and yellow scraps, think it needs to go on my list of quilts to make!

  5. I really like what you are doing with the purple (my favorite quilting color) and yellow. I like the touches of orange. Great work on both of them!

  8. I have that Flurry pattern to make one day. It is a happy quilt. Your purple and yellow project looks like the design Flush of Spring. I was commissioned to make a king size in tones of green and beige. It was a challenge blending each fabric together. You are getting close to completions :) Sandi

  12. I love them both, but am partial to the purple/yellow one! I have been wanting to make a scrappy quilt with those colors, but realized I have very little of either of those colors left in my stash right now!

  14. Flurry is looking awesome, not much further to go now. I still need to make the backing. I'm trying to work out if I have enough scraps so that I can use them "nicely" in the back.
Love the purple and yellow quilt, it's going to look fabulous.
