I've wanted to make a brown and teal quilt for awhile. This project seemed like a good opportunity to try out that color combination. Many of these fabrics have been in my stash for years.
The other new project that's still in the planning stages is the Guild BOM for 2026. I agreed to take that on again for next year. I have the quilt designed in EQ. Next year's BOM will be a sampler quilt. Since that will mean a new block each month, I wanted to get going on that this year and make the blocks while I was writing the instructions. My plan is to start with the first couple of blocks this month. Here's my fabric pull for that project.
All this fabric needs to be washed and pressed. I'm hoping to get to that in the next couple of weeks.
Most of my projects are still at the stage they were at the last time I blogged, so not much to share there. But Grad Girl finished her first quilt top while she's been living at home.
She did all the embroidery by hand last winter. The embroidery and quilt pattern is Ingrid's Wildflowers from Missouri Star. I helped her change the quilt pattern to include corner stones. This is only her second ever sewing machine project (her first one was a pincushion). She did such a great job with it. Her plan is to finish it as a wall hanging for her bedroom. She wants to try a three yard quilt next. Probably won't start on that till I go visit her in October (at least that's the plan now).
That's it for me this week. We will be moving Grad Girl this week, so I'll probably be scarce in blogland for a bit. Linking up with Monday Design Wall and Patchwork & Quilts.

have fun with your girl! love your blue fabrics
Lovely fabric selections! The purple one looks like one I have in my stash. And wow, GG's quilt is gorgeous! Great job with the embroideries, and the sashings are perfect! Good luck with the move. Thank you for sharing and linking up today!
Grad Girl did a beautiful job on her first quilt. Her embroidery is so lovely. Best wishes on her move and starting her new career! The colors you've chosen for both new projects are awesome.
It's nice to have some time to plan and pull fabrics for upcoming projects - you've got two pretty combinations there! And Grad Girl's quilt top is lovely, too. I love the flower embroideries on the dark blue background! How did she trace the designs onto that blue? I hope everything is working out for her apartment in Houston.
Grad girl’s quilt is gorgeous. I’m curious…how did she trace the designs onto that dark fabric? I’m thinking Sticky Fabri-Solvy? Or maybe she has a trick I don’t know. The fabrics for your new projects are very pretty.
You amaze me with your organization. I seem to start things all willy nilly. LOL! Good on Grad Girl! It's a lovely project.
I think your brown and teal fabrics look great together; I look forward to seeing that quilt come together. I also think it's really smart to be making the blocks while you write the instructions for the 2026 Guild BOM. Grad Girl's quilt top looks fantastic, and I hope that moving her this week goes smoothly!
You have some nice fabric pulls for those projects. Grad Girl's quilt is lovely!
I like your selection for the mystery quilt, and those brights you've chosen for the BOM are gorgeous. Grad Girl's quilt is awesome! The embroidery is the star of the show, but I'm so impressed with her first time quilt skills.
Hoping your Guy is feeling better and that all the housing plans worked out to Grad Girl's satisfaction. I know you will be happy to see her settled.
Looks like you are going to have some wonderful projects in the works in the future. A brown and teal quilt sounds yummy! Woo Hoo on Grad Girl's finish! She did a wonderful job. I wish her all the best as she is making her move. Take care, Kate. Hugs.
I like your brown and teal fabric pull! I keep wanting to do a brown and pink quilt...haven't done one of Cheryl's mysteries in several years. Maybe I should contemplate this one? Awesome beautiful quilt by GG! Good luck with her move. :-)
The embroidered quilt turned out great! Glad to hear she landed a job. Hopefully she's close enough to visit sometimes.
Kudos to the Grad Girl! What an accomplishment. Very pretty embroidery!
The Teals and browns are so pretty together! and go Grad girl!!!!!
Yay for Grad Girl finally getting moved. And, wow, her first quilt is beautiful! How rewarding that she is interested in quilting…have fun when you visit in October:)
