Stitching Stuff: Week 35 of 2025

My apologies for being so late posting today.  It's not been the best week on a number of fronts.  It started with My Guy getting admitted to the hospital on Monday.  Thankfully, they found the source of the infection, treated him and he was out of the hospital by late Tuesday afternoon.  I've been trying to help Grad Girl with the apartment leasing process. She's been dealing with two major miscommunication errors the apartment management made that prevented her from finishing the leasing process, so she still doesn't have an apartment and she starts work in a week.  I will admit between My Guy's illness and Grad Girl's struggles, I've not been in the bast frame of mind and pretty much just shut down this week.  My stats for this week show that pretty clearly.

  • 15 minute days/week =  3/7 days
  • 15 minute days/Aug = 19/30 days
  • 15 minute days/2025 = 211/242 days
  • Success rate = 87.19%

This summer hasn't been my best on the stitching front. But we have a lot going on.  I'm hoping the second half of September is much calmer and goes much more smoothly.

Grad Girl's kitty has been hanging out with us while her person has been job/apartment hunting.  Grad Girl brought all of her quilts home so her kitty would have some semblance of home.

It's always nice to know your family appreciates your quilts.  Even better when the cat likes the quilt you made especially in her honor.

Hope your stitching week has been much better than mine!

well you have been through a bit a very rough week. I hate hospital stays whether it is ER or overnight - it just isn't comfortable - I hope you can get the mess straightened out for your daughter and get some rest.

Sorry for your busy and not fun week, I hope your husband is getting better, and your daughter will have the keys of her appartement very soon. Fingers croosed for the next week being much more quiet. Hugs

I'm so sorry to hear that your guy was sick like that - having your hubby in the hospital is hard and scary, I know from experience. I'm glad he's better now. I hope things get on the right track for Grad Girl's apartment so it's a smooth start to the new job, too. Queenie looks just contented as can be with her matching quilt! I've been sewing pretty consistently these last few weeks, but getting ready to go out of town this week, so will have to leave it all beh8nd for awhile. Good thing our projects are patient!

Here's hoping for a better week, Kate. Get well to Your Guy. Hopefully Grad Girl's apartment difficulties will get worked out. Starting your first job causes enough anxiety without having housing issues added to it. Take deep breaths. This, too, shall pass.

My goodness, what a week! I'm glad your Guy is out of the hospital, I hope he is doing well. How disappointing about the lease process for Grad Girl. Praying it all sorts out soon. At least Queenie looks comfortable - that's really all that matters. ;)

I'm so sorry about your Guy's illness. I hope he recovers quickly. Sorry, too, about the leasing glitches. That is stressful stuff, so I can understand why you are feeling a bit stressed. Hope it all works out.

Hi Kate, those periods just happen. I hope that things will calm down and that your husband will be fine and your daughter gets her apartment. Take care of yourself!

Goodness, that’s a whole lot going on, I hope My Guy recovers completely and quickly. I can’t imagine starting a new job while not having a place to live lined up. New job stress is more than enough on its own. Kitty sure knew how to give you some good feels though……she looks amazing laying with the quilt made in her honor!
