Last week was one of holiday preparations and celebrations. We had a very nice and relaxed Christmas. There wasn't much time for sewing, but I reduced last week's to do list to account for that.
Weekly To Do List (12/22/2020)
- Daisy Chain: Make binding, trim quilt ✔
- Grassy Creek: Start clues 4 and 5 - progress
- Unity: Finish clue 5, start clues 6 and 7 ✔
Two out of three isn't bad for what turned out to be a pretty busy week. Even though there's not a check mark, there was still progress on Grassy Creek, which is always the goal each week.
I'm on vacation this week. We are taking care of a few odds and ends around the house while we are off, but I'm still planning to get in some good stitching time most days. Here's this week's To Do List:
Weekly To Do List (12/29/2020)
Daisy Chain: Finish hand stitching binding
Last week's to do was to trim the quilt and make the binding. I forgot that the label needed to be made as well. That got done and the binding was sewn to the quilt. The goal is finish the hand stitching before Friday. If I can manage that, Daisy Chain will be the seventh and last finish for 2020.
Red, White and Blue Stars: Make backing
This red, white and blue stripe was in the project box to use as the back. I'll probably stick with it as I don't think there is anything else in the stash that would be more appropriate. Getting the backing made would give me a good start on next year's first finish.
Grassy Creek: Work on clues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, start clues 6 and 7
I'm still behind on Grassy Creek. I've started cutting the pieces for clue 5, but didn't get any sewn. But there has been reasonable progress on Clues 1, 2, 3 and 4. I won't get completely caught up this week, but there will be good progress. I should have the components to make the first block whenever we get to that clue.
Unity: Continue working on clues 6 and 7
That's my last To Do List for 2020 that will carry me into 2021. Good luck with your end of the year to do's. Linking up with Tuesday To Do over at Home Sewn by Us.

Hi Kathy! (I'm going to try to remember that instead of Kate!) How nice that you were able to enjoy the holiday week. It was a quiet one for us as well. I'm hoping for a LOT of sewing this week, and we're getting a big snowstorm tonight (5-8") so that will keep us inside. I think that backing is just perfect for your r/w/b quilt. Happy New Year! Thanks for linking up. ~smile~ Roseanne
You have good things planned for your week ahead. I'm taking this week off too, but didn't think to write up a post. I'm just doing some fun stuff in my sewing room, so nothing much to post!
I am working on one of the items on my 'to-do' list for this week--and that was getting all the patterns and quilt books-magazines off the top shelf of my closet and sorting them and putting them in magazine racks to put back on the shelf--so that when I want a pattern or a book and go to pull it down--the whole 'mess' doesn't come down on my head!!!
Then I hope-plan to pretty much redo the whole closet--and resort my fabrics--but I also think I will need different containers for the fabric--sooo?????
Have fun quilting this week--I will get back to quilting after the first of Jan--at least--that is the plan!!!
luv, di
Hi,
That good list to work on. It should keep your
busy. Like the unity block, very pretty.
Have a great day!
Great progress! I've decided that as long as I keep moving a project forward I'm not going to beat myself up when I fall behind a little.
You will get so much done with all this time off!
Lots of piecing in your plan--my favorite part of the quiltmaking process! Enjoy your last few days of vacation.
Good idea to take the week off. You have some pretty to-dos; I still love Unity. I am taking stock in my sewing room and trying not to start of with too many new goals - I have enough old ones to keep me busy - hah! Good luck with your goals and enjoy the new year.
A nice easy week with a little bit of productivity to still feel good about it! Good luck with your goals and happy New Year!
Looks like a very doable list for you this week. Enjoy your time off. I'm playing rather than working on the commissioned t shirt quilt or a customer's quilt that needs quilting. Every once in a while I really just like to do stuff of my own! Happy New Year.
Your Unity block looks great!
