Bindings, Blocks and Borders

It was a slow week in the sewing room.  I forget just how much the flu can drag down your energy levels. The older I get, the longer it seems to take to bounce back after being unwell.

Thankfully there was the energy  on Saturday and Sunday to hang out in the sewing room.  The first priority is to get the binding made for Twinkle Stars.

It's taking a bit longer than normal because I'm trying to match up the colors in the binding strips with the colors in the narrow scrappy border.

I'm still working on Frolic.  There's another two blocks and more sashing up on the design wall, but it's hard to tell there's been much progress.

Just two dark blue blocks left to assemble, then I can move on to to the last five light blue blocks.

The dark purple borders are going on Mosaic Mystery,

Adding borders always takes so much longer than you think it should, but at least there's been some progress.

Not a bad week on the stitching front.  Linking up with Monday Making, Monday Design Wall and Main Crush Monday.

You work full time and you still got way more done than I did! All of these quilts look fabulous to me. I really like your color choices. The binding is going to be great on Twinkle Stars. Hope you get your energy back 100% soon.

All beautiful quilts. That’s an interesting idea with matching up colors on your binding with the border. I’m curious to see how that will look when it’s all finished.

I think this is the first time I've really looked up close at your Mosaic fabrics really closely. Gosh, those are pretty! Purple and gold together are just lovely :)

Hooray for such good progress, Kate!! Best of luck matching up the border and binding color sections. I find that to be SEW challenging!

It may be taking longer than you like, but getting everything just right will be worth it in the end.

"borders always take longer than you think they should" -- truer words never spoken!! I always get the top together and think "I'm almost done; I JUST need to add the borders!" Hah! Same thing with the binding, and then several days or a week later... All of these projects are looking lovely. I'm glad you're feeling well enough to sew again!
