Consequently, there hasn't been a great deal of stitching this week. I'm still working on getting the final borders on the Inverted Star quilt. However, the last of the planned blocks for Squared Away did get finished. Here's all of my versions up on the design wall.
Squared Away Sampler designed by Mari (The Academic Quilter) and Angela (Soscrappy) |
I made a first attempt at a layout, but it's obvious I need to spread out those orange and yellow blocks a bit more. The on point setting works for me, I'll play with a straight setting before making a final plan. Sashing will definitely be involved, I'm just not sure what color to use. So that has to be worked out too. It was a fun project for the year. Now to decide what's on tap for next year. I'm looking forward to the dithering.
Linking up with Soscrappy today and with Quilting is More Fun that Housework on Sunday.

You have a pretty collection of blocks on your design wall! Have you decided on a sashing fabric? I'm still dithering about that, but hope to make a decision this week.
Wow...I love all those colors together. It’s looking great so far.
Beautiful blocks!!!
Your blocks look great! I suggest a pale color for sashing, to let those pretty blocks shine.
Very pretty blocks, they look good in every colour way. Looking forward to seeing what colour sashing you choose. Enjoy planning your next RSC block.
Beautiful blocks, they look great all together!
The blocks look wonderful!
Your blocks look great, and I like the diagonal setting. I hope you get plenty of time over the weekend to play with your blocks and debate over the sashing choice.
I like weekends too! I think we should have more of them! Glad you got some time to quilt a litte.... that quilt is going to be wonderful!
I like it on point too. During the year, I wondered what you plan was with the different blocks, and now I get it. I like the sampler look.
I like the way you've set your blocks. I can't wait to see the finish.
Great job finishing all your blocks. I really like them set on point. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
Love your blocks! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for sashing. The on=point setting looks great!
I do like the look of the on point setting, but I'll probably use the straight setting. If I have to add sashing, cornerstones, and setting triangles, I'll probably never finish it. I haven't played with my blocks yet as other projects (and a quilt retreat) got in the way.

Your blocks are so lovely and cheerful. Well done keeping up despite the chaos of work!
It looks great. I have no ideas about what to sash it with. My advice is to audition fabrics. The right one will tell you!
I love on-point setting too! It's fun to tweak as well right? These RSC quilts seem to always sing no matter what the layout. And oh yes on the weekends, though I teach yoga Friday late afternoon and Sunday morning!
