I did sew last week, especially yesterday. But none of it shows up on the design wall. I finally got around to making the back for the Fat Quarter Stars Quilt, so it's ready to be sent out for quilting. I started cutting fabric for block B of the Sofa Quilt and am now ready to start making the flying geese. The label was sewn on what's been known on the blog as the Purple and Yellow quilt last week, but I didn't get it downstairs for any photographs. That finally happened Saturday.

The binding is yellow, the back is a purple and yellow floral that goes pretty well with the colors on the front.
I love the all over floral motif that Trudy used for the quilting.
Isn't that pretty? She used a variegated purple thread for the quilting.
I finished this quilt over a month ago, but was really struggling for a name. KT left a comment on an earlier post suggesting Johnny Jump Ups, a common name for a viola (here's a photo). I wasn't familiar with this flower, so I did a bit of research. I didn't mark the site unfortunately, but it noted that one variation on the common name was Jump Up and Kiss Me Jack. One of My Guy's nicknames is Jack and since this quilt is staying with me, the quilt name is "And Kiss Me Jack".
I had a bit of fun with the label and liked the way it came out, though it looks a bit wonky. This quilt was started in 2006, it was the next to oldest quilt on the UFO list. It's nice to finally get it finished.
That's it for my design wall this week. Hop over to Judy's Patchwork Times to see more design walls.

wow - don't know what's more great - to finish up a UFO that is 6 years old - the great label or the fact that purple and yellow are so pretty!! Congrats!
Love the setting and the quilting is awesome. It's so nice to get one done and off "the list"!
Jack continues to be my favorite of all the quilts you show and I love the name and label.
What a beauty...so wonderfully summer! Love the label, too.
Great quilt and story. I am envious is 2006 is your oldest ufo. I, um, er, won't mention how old some of my UFOS are.
Did you do your label on your computer? What fabric/process did you use? Just curious. Thanks for sharing.
What a cute name for your quilt and a beautiful quilt it is for sure. Great label too.
Great quilt and a wonderful name! I have that book, but I don't think I've ever made anything from it. I should peruse it again....
Beautiful quilt! I love it.
Aww, that's a great name! Good choice! And it looks fabulous too, of course.
Beautiful quilt. I really like your label, too.
Lovely, lovely quilt...and not just because I'm partial to purple. The quilting suits it wonderfully.
Love the name, and what a fabulous finish. It's a beautiful quilt.
It must feel great to finish up such a well aged UFO. The colors are quite pretty and that label is the perfect way to finish it off.
I've been waiting and waiting for this to be finished and it hasnt disappointed me one bit.
This quilt reminds me of Spring and a field of flowers. It's utterly gorgeous.
A finish always feels good.
I Like it!
It's beautiful...I love everything about it...the colours, the layout, the quilting, the name...such a special quilt!
First of all, I just love the purple and gold quilt. One of my favorites. But And Kiss Me Jack is just wonderful! I adore the quilting. The label is just wonderful, the little window is just super cute, I'm gonna definitely use that one. But the name, lol, just love that.
Beautiful quilt! Love the colors...the name adds such a touching finish. Congratulations.
A resounding success all the way around, Kate! As I recall, this was a leader ender and now is a real quilt with a terrific name. Congrats! I love Johnny Jump Ups--I have some current volunteer plants in my front flower bed at present. Never heard the Jack part but love it :)
