When I read Barbara's Foto Finish theme for this week, I groaned. I was pretty sure my photo selection for orange was going to be zero and with this week's schedule, grabbing a new shot was going to be a challenge. You'd think for someone who lives in the state of Oklahoma orange would be fairly easy to come by in a photograph. On any given weekend, you'll see a lot people out and about in either deep red or bright orange, the colors of the two state universities. I have even less of an excuse for having limited orange shots in my portfolio since I'm an alumni of the one with orange and black school colors.
Surprisingly, the photo files contained a fair number of orange themed shots to chose from. I whittled it down to three, then sought the opinion of the resident photography guru in our house, My Guy, as to which one to post. This was his choice.
This one is the "orangest" of the three according to My Guy. If you can't tell, it's the petal of a Tiger Lily. This shot was taken on our trip to Washington State a few years ago. I love using a macro lens to capture the texture and details of flower petals. Each petal is a work of art in itself.

This is beautiful, Kate. We have some wild tiger lilies growing in our woods. I just love them.
Very pretty, and yes, we can tell,it's plenty 'orange' enough!
I do enjoy orange, but admit, it's not a huge part of my decor, or quilting, unless it's fall!
This is a very beautiful flower and you captured it well. Thanks for sharing!
Oh -- great shot -- good eye there! I'm glad you shared it! :)
Lovely shot. We used to have tiger Lillies in our garden when we lived in Melbourne.
You also have lots of orange in that gorgeous fall header photo.
Just lately I've been liking orange more and more. Love the shades and dots in your photo.
Tiger lillies are among my favourite flowers too!
That is wonderfully orange! I haven't done a lot of macro images, I do like to look at other people's - and this one is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing with us!
Gorgeous color! I love those flowers.
Beautiful shot! I love orange and have lots of orange daylilies in my garden, but no luscious tigers!
