I did much better this week at finding time to stitch.
15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
15 minute days/May = 20/23 days
15 minute days/2020 = 131/144 days
Success rate = 90.97%
So I've been doing well on finding time to stitch this year even though last week was less than stellar. I'm hoping for a nothing but stitching day tomorrow. How about you? Have you been able to work in some good stitching time this week? You can scroll to the bottom of the post for the weekly link up if flowers aren't your thing.
We picked the Tulsa Rose Garden for our picnic in the park on Friday. Unfortunately, the garden endured a very serious mite infection about 3 years ago. The garden is slowly recovering. There's more than just roses there too. I grabbed the wrong camera on my way out the the door. My oldest camera doesn't focus very well close up, but I still got some nice photos.
Since it is a rose garden, we'll start with one. Love the fade from dark to light pink.
The water lilies in the fountain were beautiful. My photo doesn't do them justice.
The pansies were so pretty. Purple and yellow has long been a favorite color combination.
Old fashioned roses aren't as complex as the more modern versions, but just as pretty.
Hydrangea is one of my favorites, the garden had some of the biggest bushes of them I'd ever seen.
No idea what the following flowers are, but they were certainly showy.
This is my favorite photo from the park, it looks more like a painting than a photo.
And reminds me that you can still take great photos even if you grabbed the camera with the crappy focus, it just takes a bit more time to get the shots you want.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

beautiful flowers!! I don't have the knack for growing pretty flowers in pots but I need to pick up a few more to give it a try once again. We continue to stay home and just run into town to the grocery once a week - I hope we can start to take walks at the parks again next week - we will see
Gorgeous flower photos! I used to take lots of photos of flowers, but haven't done so in many years. Maybe I should give it another try.
Gorgeous photos - so nice to be able to get out and enjoy a day in the park. That last photo looks very Georgia O'Keefe - worthy of enlarging and framing.
Gorgeous flower photos. I haven't seen a petunia in years and forgot how pretty they are. Congratulations on your 15 minutes every day. I only had one day of sewing this week.
Your photos are wonderful!! So glad you and your husband could get out for a while in the park.
Glad to hear you got some fun time in! I am hoping for a short hike in a park today or tomorrow. But we have to watch the weather, so who knows what will happen.
Incredible photos from the park, Kate!! An outing, photos, and sewing, too? SEW glad you have been enjoying your holiday weekend!
Hi,
Your flower photos are awesome...
Have a great day!
Love your flower photos, especially the lat one. I was wondering and am no expert, but I think the yellow and purple ones are pansies and not petunias. Maybe someone will know for sure
Oh wow--what beautiful flower photos and it sounds like a nice relaxing time together-glad you were able to get a bit--that is always good for the soul--
that first pansy photo is a winner for sure--
so are we ready to go racing??
take care--
luv, di
I'm in again!!
What lovely flowers, so nice to see them.
Lovely flower photo's. I got some winter blooming pot plants last week to brighten the back yard. I have to resist buying more now that winter is starting to hit. We have had a bit of rain the last week or so. Plenty of time to stitch down here as there isn't really a lot to do otherwise when its cold and rainy.
What beautiful flower shots. And, yes, those are pansies, not petunias. Glad you could get out for a walk in the park. We're staying at home and away from the crowds. Sunny and hot here (keep in mind we had snow two weeks ago). Enjoy your sew day today.
Pat
For grabbing the wrong camera, you sure took some beautiful photos, Kate! That sounds like a wonderful spot for a picnic.
Thank you so much for sharing the lovely flowers with us! Hopefully this break will help you keep going. It sure has helped me.
Your photos are amazing! Such beautiful flowers!
Wow, awesome pictures - you could turn that last one into an art quilt! Sounds like a lovely long weekend.
I wish I were more motivated to focus on my yard. Working full time and having to do a yard almost from scratch is time consuming and expensive. I prefer to sew.
Your pictures do motivate me greatly though. I just love those flowers!
