The Democrats started their sit in over the lack of gun legislation just minutes after her group finished their tour of the House. She had a great time, but was pretty exhausted when she got home.
My Guy and I both took Friday off. Most of the morning was spent in Tulsa running errands and getting the car serviced. But I got to sew most of the evening. I finally finished last month's green blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

I'm not thrilled with the mismatch in the gingham in the bodice. I'm considering adding some ribbon to hide it, after all the restitching, I'm not redoing the entire dress. So both green dresses are done finally (just a month late).

Now I can move on to June's aqua dresses. I've got the fabrics all picked out.
I fell behind on this year's Rainbow Scrap Project back in March when I had a lot of business travel. Not sure I'm going to be able to catch up as we have summer vacation plans coming up. The dresses have been a lot of fun to make, but they are certainly complicated to piece.

These are beautiful dresses. The mismatch is good, it looks like two pieces that can be buttoned. That's what a real dress would look like.
Congratulations to DT on her trip. Al Neuharth is a local for us, USA today and Florida today are just around the corner. What an exciting time to be in DC! The green dresses are just adorable. I bit of ribbon would cover the seam, but I don't think it looks at all bad the way that it is.

What a photo to treasure of DT! I understand why the mismatch in the gingham bothers you - what about 2 or 3 tiny buttons or a bit of ribbon that looks like it has buttons/dots - my idea goes along with Shasta's comment.
Boy do I know about falling behind in the RSC. Still didn't catch up with my last few cows from last year, although fabrics are pulled and I WILL because the quilt is going to my aunt. AND I'm a little bit behind in both this year's projects, yikes.
Well, duh, that was all about me! Hit send too fast...wanted to say i LOVE your dresses! They instantly remind me of my favourite two Barbie dresses I had, one yellow with black lace trim and another blue/pink/white not-quite gingham. A bit of lace or ribbon would be the perfect solution. LOVE that green!
Wonderful for DT! I love Washington D.C....not to live, but for touring, it's great! I wouldn't even have noticed the mismatch on the gingham dress. I could see a row of little mini buttons there too, but it might actually draw attention to it. I have a pile of mini buttons I purchased for another project, and I could send you some. Not sure if I have green or white, but I could check.

The dress is PERFECT as is! I didn't even notice it!! Love the fabric! You are really doing a great job on these. Hopefully you will be all caught up by the end of the year!!

What an honor for your daughter, your pride and joy. She will go far. The gingham green is so pretty. It front looked hardly noticeable to me and could be covered as suggested.

I had to scroll back up to see what you were talking about! I think you were right not to mess with redoing it. They are SUPER cute! So cute, I am extremely tempted to try paper piecing. I have not ever done that before.

What a wonderful trip for DT - congrats. The dresses are cute - not to worry about being on schedule with RSC - it is about enjoying the project. A little bit of ribbon will look cute as well as hide that little oops. These patterns are not easy.

I love the gingham dress, it's just so perfect! I actually don't mind the mismatch at all...maybe because it is gingham!

Those little dresses are adorable. I think a bit of ribbon will be the perfect fix for your mismatched bodice.
The dresses are darling! I like the green gingham; wouldn't change it if I were you. Not all of us can afford dresses that have perfectly matched prints on them.
I think your green dresses are lovely and summery! I can see why that one seam bothers you, but when all of the dresses are together in the quilt, I think it will be less noticeable. Congratulations to your daughter, too!
