Not a lot going on with the design wall this week. I took some time out from the ongoing projects to finish getting labels on some quilts that are presents for three teachers who have been really important in making Drama Teen the awesome teenager she is (Don't tell her I said she was awesome, it will go straight to her head!). The only project that hasn't shown up on the blog in a while is Neutral Gems, my current leader and ender project.
Neutral Gems Pattern is "Gems" by Donna Lynn Thomas found in the book Patchwork Palette |
Only one more 6.5" block to sew before I can make my 4th large block. I love the pattern that these blocks make. This project is a big change from the other stuff up on the wall. It's subdued, while all the other projects use bright colors.
That's it for my design all this week. I still have one quilt label to attach, but I didn't have the right color thread to stitch it down. Since I'll have to order that, I should be able to get back to work on Mon Ami and maybe get all the borders on it this week.

Thank you for posting the source of your quilt block. I really like this one and the colors your are using.
"Gems" is going to be beautiful.
Gems looks striking! I can't believe it is the middle of August either!
I really love this quilt, using neutrals is a nice change from brights , once in a while!
Wow! At first I thought you'd taken a photo f your latest project in black and white. This is a really interesting quilt Kate.
Nice leaders and enders project. I see a posy in this block, would be cute also in brights. Thanks for sharing!
I agree time flies when one is busy; but it's better if life is busy and fun! LOL
I hope the transition to high school wasn't too scary!
