Saturday was rainy, but the rest of the holiday weekend has been gorgeous. My Guy and I went for a walk last night after dinner. My back seems to have recovered, but my right knee is still giving me fits, so it wasn't a long walk.
The sewing room hasn't been as attractive the last couple of weekends. I've been reading more than I typically do. That's OK, sometimes you need to mix it up a bit. There was enough sewing time to finish up the "A" blocks.
What looks black is actually a very, very dark purple. My version will be about half the size of Bonnie's. I prefer throw sized quilts to bed sized.
With the A blocks done, my attention moved to what Bonnie called the main block.
Not a lot of progress there, but enough got pieced to make one block. The plan today is get more of these blocks put together. It's a lot of stitching to get the parts for just one block!
It's rare for me to work on just one quilt at a time. It's probably time to decide on another UFO to make some progress on. That's my goal for 2nd and 3rd quarters, focus on moving the UFOs to finished quilts. Do I pull my oldest UFO or the one that's closest to being finished?

I usually go with the UFO that’s closest to a finish, lol. I like your color choices for L&L.
Yes, definitely the closest to finish -- you'll have nearly instant gratification of a finish! And then you can pick another one! Or there is always work on one for a month (or any specified time) and then move on to the next. That way you get more projects closer to the finish line. But, decisions, decisions! Hope that knee gets its act together.
I usually go with what is closest to being finished. Glad your back is feeling better!
I have a knee that's giving me trouble, too - so frustrating when you enjoy walking! That main block makes an interesting star. Are you cutting the half-rectanglectriangle pieces with a special ruler?
Funny how changing from one project to another can refresh your energy and creativity. Your L&L colors are lovely. (And lupines are in bloom here.)

Good luck figuring out which UFO you want to finish up. I found a tray the other day of a Texas flag quilt, and every piece is cut and ready for me to sew. (Why did I put it away???) I pulled it out because (hopefully) it should go fast, and I'm anxious to surprise my husband with it.
I like the colors in that quilt. It will be beautiful when it's done.
