I've reviewed how last year went. Decided on a strategy rather than goals for the year. And finally filled out my PHD list for 2026 so I can link up with Ms. P Designs to see if I can actually earn a PHD in 2026.
This will my 8th year to strive to get a PHD. I probably won't earn one this year either, but it's good motivation. My problem is I love piecing, not so much the finishing. Maybe I can work on that predilection this year. Here's my PHD list for 2026.
If I can get 12 finishes, I'll be ecstatic. Seven is the most finishes I've ever had in one year. Maybe this year will be different? Only one quilt was finished in 2025. I'm going to set the bar low and be happy if I finish more than that no matter what the final count is.
My project progress graph has been reset as well.
I have more quilts that need backing and quilting than anything else. If I can get the bars moved on any of those, I'll be really happy with this year's progress. Most of my blocks to finish are last year's new projects, with a few UFOs thrown in to round out the list. I'm just hoping for progress on most of those this year. I have 4 new projects on the list for 2026. We'll see what happens with the 2027 BOM, someone else from the guild might want to take over. I'm not holding my breath there, but it might happen.

I think your project progress graph is a smart way to track progress. I hope you have a great year ahead!
I'm with you - I love piecing but not good at finishing things. Good luck to BOTH of us this year!!
Welcome to PHD in 2026! I have always enjoyed piecing more than quilting or binding too. However I've been practicing my FMQ moves for the past 2 years or so, and now I enjoy that too. It has helped me to make the task list and shade the cells as each step is completed. I'm a list nerd, LOL. Happy quilting, Sharon
I will be cheering you on as you work for your PHD this year, Kate. Happy quilting.
What a colorful progress-tracker! Have fun PHD'ing this year!
