It's been a slow year on the photography front. I just haven't been reaching for my camera much this year. Having said that I did do better in April. We did more of the photography challenges in April, so I picked up my camera more. What was probably the best motivator was all the spring flowers that were blooming around the house. It was hard to whittle down the list to post, but that's a problem nice to have after having no photos to post for March.
Following photos taken with a Canon 70D DSLR with a Sigma 105 mm macro lens.
One of our photo challenges was bottles. My photo for that challenge was a shot of the whole bottle. But I also like this one of the details of the cracks in the bottom (that's the design, the bottle hasn't been broken). I like the the way the reflections and shadows add highlights and interest to the mostly dark in the rest of the photo.
Things started blooming in April and flowers are hard for me to resist.
The honeysuckle bush really bloomed this year. They are such delicate flowers.
And the roses didn't let me down, there were a few blooms but lots of buds early in April.
The rest of the photos were taken with the Canon, but with a Tamron 18 to 400 telephoto lens (it handles windy conditions better than the macro does).
More honeysuckle:
And finally, raindrops on roses:

Wow! I'd say April was an excellent month for pictures. You have captured some great texture and detail. The raindrops on the rose is a gorgeous shot.
I really like the 3rd photo of the bud within the open rose. That's worthy of being framed and hung on the wall.

like that bottle bottom--I would of never thought of doing a bottle from the bottom!!! Your flower photos are excellent--esp all those rose ones--wow!!! hugs, di
Your flower photos are great! I love the rose bud and leaf with raindrops on them. Glad you're getting out with your camera!
Pretty. I love macro photography. No matter where you are, there’s always something to photograph, even if it’s something completely mundane.
Beautiful photos! Honeysuckle is such a forgotten plant, and I have always loved them. Your roses look so pretty with the water droplets.
Such lovely photos, Kate. The beautiful blooms provide many photo opportunities. Love the roses with the raindrops. Have a fabulous weekend. Hugs.
Hi Kate, I'm glad that the flowers got you picking up your camera. Those are gorgeous pictures of your flowers. I always love water on them!
Love the flower photos, makes me think I need to do some refreshing in my garden as not much has bloomed yet.
