Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Half Way There

Last night Drama Teen and I stopped at Walgreen's for some necessary girly stuff.  The big seasonal aisle in the center of the store was full of school supplies.  When I pointed the aisle out to DT, she was horrified and beg me to "speak no more of it".  She very quickly dived into the candy aisle looking for the means to drive away reality with a sugar haze.  It's about 4 weeks till school starts up again.  That's hard to believe.  DT has already started on her college applications for next year.  Oh boy, not sure we are ready for that, so I think the "speak no more of it" works for me on that front.  But I'll opt for a sewing daze rather than all that sugar, it's much easier on the waistline.

There hasn't been a lot of stitching time this week.  For some reason my new computer decided that there was no Internet, when everything else in the house could connect just fine.  After two evenings spent on the phone with Dell technical support, it appears to be working again.  Keep your fingers crossed for me that it keeps working.  Even though there wasn't a lot of time to sew, the second teal vintage dress block was finally finished last night.

This would be very nice dress for a summer picnic.  It's my new favorite of the set.  So both of the teal dresses for June are now finished.

I'd definitely wear either of these.  Since these two dresses bring me to the halfway point it seemed like a good idea to put everything up on the design wall and check out how the light/dark balance was working out.

Probably need to add in at least one more dress with a lot of white or pale background.  I'm really liking my collection of vintage dresses.  Now to find my meager pile of pink scraps and make a start on this month's dresses.

The plan is to link up with Angela over at Soscrappy for this week's Rainbow Scrap Challenge and then link up later with Oh Scrap over at Quilting is More Fun than Housework.

I love, love your dresses. I think I am going to have to get busy and make some myself. That pattern is great. You are doing so well with your color and scale choices.

Very pretty! They look terrific together. Some of those pieces are definitely minuscule. Back to school ads have been appearing here too. I could almost hear the collective nooooooo from the neighborhood kids! Hope your computer keeps connection with the outside world:)

Can I borrow a dress from your closet? But they are all so nice I wouldn't be able to choose. I've really been enjoying seeing the color combinations that you've put together. Very nice!

Those little dresses are just so stinking cute! And your "speak no more" of it gave me a chuckle. College already. i can't believe it. Tell that girl to stop growing.

Oh and I was surprised to see the back to school sales already - it is only July, we should be able to enjoy our summer! So I completely understand DT. But since I don't go to school and don't have a schoolkid anymore, I have to resist these wonderful back to school specials.

We only have 2 more weeks until school starts. I have already made a list of what supplies I don't have on hand, and what clothes need to be purchased. Uggh! I albsokutely love seeing all of your dresses together! I've enjoyed them as you've released them, but seeing them together is breathtaking. Great job selecting colors...this is going to be a beautiful quilt!!

Oh how I love your dresses! I hate paperpiecing, but you make me want to do it when I look at all of your dresses. You have done a fabulous job on all of them. I can't wait to see them all in a quilt.

You have such a wonderful wardrobe! I can't pick a favourite one; each one has its own personality and style. So well done. Love polka dot with the "buttons" on the sashing. So unique! Maybe you should start sewing dresses and open a store. You'd be very successful as you have a great eye for picking the fabrics. Fabulous job! ;^)

Thanks for sharing all of your wardrobe! So many pretty dresses, it would be hard to choose which one to wear! Maybe the black and white dots, or the blueberries. ;) Looking great!
