Stitching Stuff: Week 44 of 2025

The blog has been pretty much radio silent this week. First off, I've been visiting Grad Girl for the week and though I've been sewing, she doesn't have a design wall and Queenie pretty much pounces on anything I put down on the bed to photograph. But probably the more scary reason is the computer went wonky on Monday. It's still not running properly, most of the time I've been able to get to my email and read blogs, but not all the time.  I've been backing up files and emailing critical files to myself so if it crashes again, I'm not completely cut off from files I need, like the guild BOM finishing instructions.  I'm posting late this morning because I couldn't get to the blog last night. My computer is probably going to get a spa day once I'm home.

Since the computer was wonky and Grad Girl was working during the week, it wasn't hard to get in my stitching time this week.

  • 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
  • 15 minute days/Oct = 31/31/days
  • 15 minute days/2025 =265/305 days
  • Success rate = 86.69%

It was a good week and a good end to October.  I don't know if I can get back to over 90% by the end of the year, but I'm hoping to get close.

No stash management, other than I pulled some fabrics for Grad Girl to make some Christmas gifts.

Did you get a chance to stitch this week?

Mine too! I think maybe a system update. It moved all my bookmarks, shortcuts but fortunately saved my quick sign ins. A bit of a mess. It will take awhile for me to get it back where I like it!

Happy November, Kate. I hope you had a lovely visit with Grad Girl. I am so sorry to hear about your tech troubles which can be quite frustrating. At least it gave you time to get in your stitching time. I can imagine Queenie wanting to inspect your projects if you laid them down. LOL. She is a doll. Have a great day. Hugs.

Cats and fabric are a hilarious combination! I'm sorry about your computer acting up, though. Hope it's not too big of a deal to get that figured out. I've had a good sewing week - my Exploding Star blocks are sewn together and just need the borders put on. Hoping to work on that this afternoon. Safe travels when it's time for you to head home.

Hi Kate, good luck with the computer. It's great that you've been able to stitch while visiting Grad Girl. Take care.

Oh, I hate it when computers aren't agreeable! I've just bought a new laptop and have been slowly moving files over, trying to bring only the ones I really need. Hope yours is okay after its spa day! And hope you've had a great week with Queenie and Grad Girl, hope she's liking the job and living in Houston.

Must be the season for computers going on the fritz spent most of yesterday trying to get mine going. Ended up doing an update to the operating system fingers crossed it lasts a bit longer a new Mac is not in the budget this year. I have a dog that likes to plonk herself on anything you are working on. Glad you have been able to spend some time with Grad Girl.

Yay on visiting GG and Queenie! Hope your computer behaves itself and that you have a safe trip back, whenever that may be.
I actually got a good amount done on an autumn cross stitch last night. I did it on 10ct linen, so that's why it went fast!
