Ten Years in the Making

This time of year it seems the weeks just speed by.  We'll hit mid November by the weekend. I'm really not ready for the end of the year, which will be here before we know it.  So it's probably best to concentrate on the now and look at what's getting done.

Chocolate Marshmallows (Seabreeze Quilts) became an assembled quilt top last Wednesday.

The blocks were started in 2014. It only took me 10 years to figure out how to set them!  I'm happy with how it came together and now it goes into the "to be quilted" closet.

I started the year with 4 sets of quilt blocks that needed to be assembled. Of those one is a finished quilt, two are finished quilt tops and the third is in the process of being assembled.

Squared Away (So Scrappy) was started in 2018.  Another project where the blocks have been finished for years and I just couldn't figure out how to set it.  The black sashing and scrappy corner stones seems to be working really well.  Still a ways to go on getting it all assembled, but fingers crossed it will also make it to finished quilt top before the end of the year.

Linking up with Monday Design Wall and Patchwork & Quilts.

The Chocolate Marshmallows top is gorgeous! Some projects just need some time before they are ready to be done. Your Squared Away blocks look great with the dark sashing.

I love the name almost as much as the top! Love the dark sashing on the squared away blocks.

Chocolate Marshmallow is really delightful - it makes me think "little girl". I know I finished Squared Away and probably gifted it to someone, but can't remember what it ended up looking like. I'm going to look at old blog posts and see, out of curiosity now.

What a great setting for the marshmallow sampler! Good for you to get these out of the closet and onto the design wall.

Well let’s see if this works. It put me as Anonymous until I clicked the drop-down menu and gave permission to use my Google profile and deposit cookies. Then magically my blogger profile icon appeared. I have my doubts because people who comment on my blog come in as no reply, but still have their blogger profile. Anyhow, yay for another quilt top together, and I can empathize with blocks in a pile because of not knowing how to set them. My house blocks sat for five years before they became Rainbow Neighbourhood.

Your borders on Chocolate Marshmallows look great! Do you have a recipient in mind for that one? Good start on sashing Squared Away, too!

Chocolate Marshmallows looks great, and I certainly can't resist the name of the pieced quilt top. You are making great progress on so many projects this year; I hope you are finding it really satisfying to see the progress on them all.

Chocolate Marshmallows turned out great! And I really like what you're doing with Squared Away. The black really makes the colors pop, and I like your colorful cornerstones.

It is hard to believe that we are approaching mid November. Chocolate Marshmallows is gorgeous. Sometimes a quilt just speaks to you as to when it is time to finish piecing or quilting it. Your Squared Away blocks are gorgeous! Enjoy your week, Kate. Hugs.

Good for you to be making progress on using your block sets. I'm interested in the pink block 4th from the left in the top row. I didn't notice the same block in the Squared Away link. Did you change it or am I just not seeing it correctly. I'm trying to decide on my block for my group to make for me... it's coming up at the beginning of December. Any suggestions? Maybe it's May with the triangles turned differently?

Chocolate Marshmallows looks so great - the pink borders really soften the quilt. Congrats on a big finish! I have a set of blocks to pull out and get into a top, maybe I will put that on my goals for next year.
