We did finally get our autumn temps, the really cold stuff arrives on Monday. We've not had to turn the heat on so far, but that will probably change soon. My Guy took Friday off and we went on an adventure. We didn't get home till late, but thankfully there was still enough time to get some stitching in before bedtime.

It's been such a good year on the stitching front. In fact such a good year that I will probably never top it. Looking towards goals next year, I'm considering what to do that ups my game. I have time to consider before finalizing my goals for next year.
Last week the very bottom of the fabric pile from the top of the shelving was pressed folded and put away. That leaves me with all the unwashed newer fabrics that have accumulated. First I pulled all the fabrics that were spilling over the sides and laying on the floor of the fabric bin in the closet.
I sorted those into the various color lines that could be washed together. The biggest pile of those was the medium toned bright greens, teals and blues. So I washed those and that's the starting place for the next stage of my fabric reorg.
In general, most of these pieces are 3 and 4 yard cuts, so they aren't a quick press and fold. I've managed to press a few pieces. This bin full may take longer than the previous ones. But it's all progress no matter how long it takes.
How are you doing on your stitching goals? Just six weeks left in the year. Have you started looking at what your goals will be for next year?

It's going to take a while to get that stack finished. If you don't have plans for your days off over the holiday season, maybe you can make a lot of progress! Happy pressing!
You have done so well on your goals this year, both on finding stitching time every single day and on the reorganization project. You've got some beautiful fabrics in that stash!
Oh boy, soon the end of the year! You did really great with your sewing and cleaning time, well done!
I'm admiring how organized you are. It takes some hard work to keep it that way and you seem to be winning that battle. Right now I seem to be getting worse about leaving a mess in my sewing room.
I wish I had some of those bigger pieces of fabric... I'm in need of backing fabrics as I've just about gone through all I have. You are doing such a great job on getting those fabrics washed and ironed. I've been trying to cut scraps into useable sizes. "I" can see the scrap piles going down but I don't think anyone else can! And, I'm really trying to put fabric and patterns away. Goals for 2025? Nothing thought of yet. However the one pattern I really wanted to try this year hasn't been looked at. Maybe I'll plan to do it the last two weeks of this year.
You've made amazing progress with your washing and pressing project! I don't have much yardage like that in my stash, but it would be handy to stock up a little and be able to pull from for backings. I've been working on finishing a quilt these last few weeks, but life keeps getting in the way. Yesterday I was working on making the binding, but plugging in my iron blew a breaker in the sewing room! After getting that figured out, I was out of the mood for anything. Trying again today! :)
Gosh 6 weeks! That is hard to believe. This year has flown by. I hope to purchase a day planner to help me along on my goals for next year. Have a lovely week, Kate. Hugs.
I've been doing lots of stitching and rearranging and finding hidden gems in my stash. I need to get too and do some more reorganising maybe during my Christmas break. We have had our first taste of summer and I'm not ready for it yet.
Kate that pile might take a while, but just think how happy you’ll be when the closet is ship shape. Congrats on keeping up with your stitching goals. 😉 Carol
Wow , I've been missing the linky but am very glad to see some bins in your sewing room too! Mine are out of control but I do love a good fabric wrangle so fun is in the future!
