Once the stitching got started, I finally finished a Vintage Dress block in brown.
Vintage Dresses by Charise Randell |
I would wear this one if it was real, though brown is not really my color. This was the easiest of the 4 dress patterns, it went together so much easier than the first two blue dresses did. Can't say that for the final dress in the pattern. It has lots of pieces. Lots of little bitty pieces. I've started putting it together, so far so good. But I haven't gotten to the part with the itty, bitty pieces yet.
I'm hoping for some more good stitching time this afternoon. For now I'm going to finish my coffee and check out all the scrappy blocks over at Soscrappy.

You are definitely right about this dress -- I would definitely wear it too! Good luck on the small paper piecing -- sometimes that can be a real bear.
Cute, cute, cute. Brown is anything but drab in your vintage dress.
Lovely dress -- very classy. (I don't wear brown either)
Cute. I'd wear it too if I was 40 years younger and had a small waist again.
A lot of my clothes are brown.
This one is a beauty. It does look a little less fussy. Good luck on the tiny part. Tiny paper piecing is at least easier than regular tiny piecing.
Cute! Would wear it.
Whata great use of sparkly fabric. It looks like a prom dress. Have fun with the tinies, and good luck with reordering the fabric closet.
You chose the perfect fabrics!
I was thinking I could wear that dress just as I read your words about wearing it. Funny. It's very cute, and this quilt is going to be adorable. Just got started on my rainbow quilt yesterday. Catching up with the blues first.
Adorable! The glitzy-gold really dresses this up!
The swirly fabric is really elegant and rich looking. A fashion winner!
It is so pretty. I would wear it too.
That is a pretty dress. Love the swirly fabric.
I'm with Cathy - if I was 40 years younger I'd wear it, too.
Good luck with those itty, bitty pieces! Judging by your previous dresses, you should be able to sail through! (Hoping I didn't jinx you by saying that...)
Lovely dress!
Beautiful, I am loving all the little dresses you are making!
guess I will use that dress pattern for my March dress-- love the way yours came out--today I am working on stars and another butterfly in the blue/purple group for January to catch up--just did 2 stars and did a big--oppps--so will have 4 blue/purple stars I think in fixing the problem!!
love and laughter, di
Very pretty fabrics for your newest dress.
That is cute! I really like that brown and gold fabric!
A gorgeous dress for sure!
Very elegant dress; a pity it's not wearable though, isn't it?!
I totally agree with everything everyone has said so far!!! Love, love, love the fabrics!! This dress could NOT be any cuter!
I love it! You are really doing an impressive job with your dresses!
Really pretty!
Great addition to the wardrobe. I would live to make these, but I am terrible at paper piecing.
Gorgeous dress - I'd wear it, too. I can't wait to see the one with all the itty bitty pieces! Braver than me - I don't like paper piecing tiny things!
I would wear it but I'd definitely need to tan for a few days before.
Another cute retro fashioned block. I am assuming these are paper pieced?
wow! what a cute block. is there a quilt this is going to be a part of?
