Last year was my first full year of retirement, so much more time to sew then I've had in the past. One change last year was to allow more new projects. Focusing on just UFOs for the previous 3 years had become a bit demotivating. I like to work on more than one project at a time, but any more than about 4 and progress starts to slow way down for those WIPs. What seemed to work best in terms of making progress and finishing projects is a mix of something new, something with piecing required (quilt blocks not completed), something to assemble (quilt blocks made), something to finish (quilt top made). My active list will expand and contract during the year, but hopefully I can keep it mostly to just 4 projects at the sewing machine as that seems to be my sweet spot in terms of progress.
New Projects for 2024
1. Just Two Charm Packs Quilt along (Meadow Mist Designs)
Starts 1/2/2024
The plan for this one is to use blue and purple scraps.
2. Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR) (Quilting Gail)
Starts in January
This one will be for Grad Girl. The plan is to use up some of my Halloween fabric stash.
3. Meadow Mist Designs 2024 Mystery
Starts in July
4. Bonnie Hunter 2024 Mystery
Starts in November
5. Guild 2024 BOM
Starts in February
Piecing Required
1. Malted Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Clues continue till May 2024.
2. Indigo Way (Bonnie Hunter): Clues continue into January.
3. Chilhowie Mystery (Bonnie Hunter): Current leaders and enders project
4. Wild & Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Rainbow Scrap project for 2024
5. Grandmother's Choice (Barbara Brackman): Started in 2012, last progress was 2012. Plan to finish as a quilt as you go project. One of my other goals is to learn to quilt on my domestic machine.
Quilts to Assemble
1. Chocolate Marshmallow (Sea Breeze Quilts, no pattern available): Started in 2014, last progress in 2015
2. Squared Away (So Scrappy and The Academic Quilter): Started in 2018, last progress in 2018
3. Diatom (Quilting Jet Girl): Started in 2023

1. Scrappy Butterflies (self designed): Started in 2013 Finished
2. 2023 SAHRR (Quilting Gail): Started 2023
3. String Lights (Just Two Charm Pack Quilts): Started in 2023
4. Rhododendron (Bonnie Hunter): Started in 2021
If all the to be pieced, to be assembled and the quilts to finish are all completed, that will be 12 quilts for the year. I've never managed that many finishes in a year. My record is 7 finishes in a year. I'd be happy with just breaking that record.

I've not popped into your blog for some time, but once my laptop & PC are up to date again, you are going onto my bloglist. Your 2024 Plan sounds amazing & finishing some of those gorgeous quilts would be a great achievement. Hope all goes well, take care & hugs.
