To Do Tuesday for the Week of 8/17/2021

Hard to believe August is half over already.  There has been more sewing time this month than last.  Last week's to do list has lots of check marks.

Weekly To Do List for 8/10/2021

  • Morewood Mystery: Package and sent out for quilting
  • Cabins and Fans: Work on row 7
  • Unity: Make HSTs for Clue 6 as leader and ender
  • Scrappy Butterflies: Start framing Butterfly blocks

The biggest achievement was getting Morewood sent out for quilting.  That should be finish number 3 next month.  I need to get busy if I'm going to have quilt number 4 ready to go for quilting by the time Morewood gets back.

Weekly To Do List for 8/17/2021

Cabins and Fans: Work on row 7

The last red violet block needs the papers removed and the sashing strips added.  I'm may need to make another small block, the upper right corner is more red than the other three segments, so it really sticks out.

Scrappy Butterflies: Continue framing butterfly blocks

Now that I've worked out the math for the framing strips, I should be able to cut more strips and get these blocks framed pretty quickly.  I'd like to get started on the alternate blocks, but I need to press the accent fabric first. That's not on the list officially, but I'm going to try to work that in this week.

Unity: Make more HSTs for step 6

All the background triangles are cut for the HSTS, now I just need to assemble them.  I've started sewing together the 4th block of the 9 needed for the last border for step 7.  I'm really ready to get to step 8.

We are back to wearing face masks at work for the foreseeable future, so I may sneak in a couple more of those this week. The first ones I made using elastic are looking a bit worse for wear.

That's my list for this week. Linking up with ChrisKnits for To Do Tuesday

it is hard going back to mask after not wearing them much for almost 2 months - well I guess maybe it was only 6 weeks actually but there is such a need to do so. Another of my large family has been diagnosed - so far 5 in NW AR 2 vaccinated and 3 not (although 1 was back before the vaccines were available) so far all have not been too sick thank goodness.

Lots of great progress in your sewing life—such pretty blocks. We’ve been wearing masks all day at work since our offices reopened—they provide us with N95 masks since we’re seeing patients in office .

Yes, the mask is returning in so many places. Makes me sad to think that just as fall arrives, so will our isolation arrive again.

I'm glad that your sewing time has increased, and I'm anxious FOR you to begin on that next step for Unity. Mostly so I can see how you arrange those pretty colors next. LOL

Your butterfly blocks are looking fabulous and congrats on getting your quilt top shipped off to your long armer! I feel your pain with the masks. This past Sunday, we had to wear masks WHILE SINGING in church choir. Have you ever tried singing with a mask on? When you try to get that quick breath in between phrases, your mask gets sucked into your throat and it feels like you're being suffocated. Church council is meeting tonight and will decide on whether/how much to roll back the progress we've made towards "returning to normal." Oh, how I wish all of this pandemic stress could be behind us already!

Oh, I can't wait until Morewood is back and done! I just love the fabrics you used in that quilt. Good luck with your goals for the week. Thanks for linking up with To-Do!

I always love seeing your cabins and fans blocks - such neat colors and design! The butterflies are really pretty, too - glad they are on your list now. I've been wondering if I need to make some new masks, too, but that is not a fun prospect!

Your butterfly blocks are great. I am pretty bummed about the masks coming back. Though, I suppose that will mean we'll all have more time for quilting.

OK. Seriously. Those butterfly blocks are absolutely precious! I love your color choice and the pattern! I smiled when I saw them! I never really stopped wearing masks, but you’re right, I think I’ll also make some more as mine are looking a little shabby, too. This time around I want to use fun fabric! Thank you so much for sharing such pretty butterfly blocks!
