To Do List for the Week of 01/27/2026

It's definitely winter here.  Our low has been -1 F for the last couple of days.  We won't warm up much, barely above freezing most days.  Definitely good days to just stay home and stitch.  I mostly did that last week, so my to do list got a lot of attention.

To Do List for 01/20/26

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish April block ✔

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble fourth row

3. SAHRR: Make block for first prompt

4. Scenic Waypoint: Cut fabrics - progress

5. Magnificent Mystery: Work on Dec/Jan clues

6. Wild and Goosey: Work on blue blocks

I didn't check off all everything on my to do list, still it was a good week on the progress front. I made enough progress on the Guild BOM and the Magnificent Mystery that they don't show up on this week's list.

To Do List for 01/27/2026

1. Kate's Choice: Assemble 5th row

I finished up the fourth row last week, but I'm going assemble rows 5 and 6, then sew those together and then sew the top and bottom together. I figure that will be easier to do on my home sewing machine. We'll see.

2. SAHRR (Quilting Gail): Make block for second prompt

It's weird to be caught up, usually I'm still working on the first prompt. I still feel like I'm cheating a bit, but I do like how my SAHRR is coming along.

3. Scenic Waypoint (Meadow Mist Designs): Continue cutting fabrics, start assembly of hourglass units.

Half of the fat quarters are cut.  All the background pieces for the next week are cut.  My plan is to finish cutting the fat quarters, then I'll go back and catch up on the background cutting. Doing it this way means I can start on this week's step while I finish cutting the background. Hopefully that strategy will keep me on schedule with the assembly instructions.

4. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Work on blue blocks

I've made a few blue blocks, but have a lot more to make.  Soscrappy hasn't posted the color for February yet, so unless it's teal or purple, I'll keep working on the blue blocks for another month.

That's my list for this week. Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.

To Do List for the Week of 01/20/2026

It's been bitterly cold this week. It's great sewing weather, but not so great for much of anything else.  It certainly kept me in the sewing room.  That made last week's to do list look a little short.

To Do List for 1/13/2026

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish March, start April blocks ✔

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble third row ✔

3. Magnificent Mystery: Work on Nov/Dec/Jan clues ✔

4. Wild and Goosey: Finish green blocks, start on blue ✔

Definitely a productive week!  Can I do the same this week? Maybe, maybe not. Two quilt alongs really get going this week, so that's going to be challenging. Thankfully, after this week, one to do item should drop off for a couple of weeks.

To Do List for 1/20/2026

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish April block

Just a couple of seams to stitch and April will be a finished block. I've been working on the instructions for May.  The plan is to get the instructions for the next three blocks finished, then cut all three at the same time. That will probably happen sometime in February.

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble fourth row

The third row is assembled, but hasn't been sewn to the the first two.  It's getting easier to assemble the rows, I've learned a few tricks to make the sewing go more smoothly.  Definitely have some thoughts on how to do this differently next time.  This project won't be done by the end of the month, but I'm making good progress and that's what counts for now.

3. SAHRR (Quilting Gail): Make block for first prompt

The first prompt comes out on Wednesday.  I decided just to make a sampler with this year's prompts, rather than rounds. Sewing at a frantic pace can be fun, I just wasn't up for it this year.  Hopefully, I'll still be happy with the final quilt.

4. Scenic Waypoint (Meadow Mist Designs): Cut fabrics

The throw sized quilt only needs 10 fat quarters and the fat quarter set I chose has 20.  These 10 made the cut. Now to start cutting.

5. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Dec/Jan clues

The November clue was finished off last week and good progress has been made on the December and January clues.  I'm looking forward to seeing how all these components come together in the finished quilt.

6. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Work on blue blocks

All the green blocks needed for this project are finished.  I still need to assemble these into 4 patches, but I'll wait till green comes up as the RSC color to do that.  I need lots of blue blocks yet, so I'll be working on these a lot this year.

That's the list for this week. Definitely more ambitious than last week's list.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday

To Do List for the Week of 01/13/2026

We'll be halfway through January towards the end of this week. It certainly does seem like time has sped up the last few years.  Maybe I just have more stuff to do?  I definitely did a lot on my to do list for last week.

To Do List for 1/06/2026

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish February, start March ✔

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble second row

3. SAHRR: Finish center block

4. Magnificent Mystery: Work on Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan clues

5. Wild and Goosey: Work on green blocks

This was my first week of setting priorities on what I worked on. Limiting the list and tackling the most important projects seems to have worked. though a couple of the goals just required me to make progress on a given project.  But I've found in the past that consistent progress makes a difference, so long as you limit the number of projects you include.  I'm going to stick with the strategy this week.

To Do List for 1/13/2026

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish March, start April

The March block is just about assembled. I still need to go back and change the pressing instructions in the instruction file that goes out to the guild members. I finished writing the April instructions in advance of starting that block. The plan is to stay ahead this year so I'm not in panic mode at some point.

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble third row

There are 6 rows, so I'm a third of way finished with the assembly process.  It's not coming together perfectly, but as it's my first try, I'm trying to cut myself a bit of slack with the imperfections. Done is better than perfect, right?

3. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Nov/Dec/Jan clues

This is another project I'm making good progress on. The October clue was finished last week and I'm pretty sure the November clue will be finished this week.  That leaves me another 2 weeks to make progress on the December and January clues before the reveal comes out in February.

4. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Finish green blocks, start on blue

Just need to finish 2 more green blocks and I'm done with that color for this project.  I need to cut some blues, my scrappy triangle bag doesn't have many of that color left after last year's efforts.

That's my list for this week.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday

To Do List for the Week of 01/06/2026

It always seems so quiet after the first of the year.  My Guy went back to work yesterday, so I was home alone for the first time in a little over 2 weeks. I got used to having someone home, so yesterday seemed especially quiet. I'll get used to it, but it just adds to that let down feeling that happens to me after the bustle and fun of the holiday are over.

My sewing time was a bit sparse before the weekend, but I tried to make up for it on Sunday.  Here's how I fared with last week's to do list.

To Do List for 12/30/2025

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish February block, start March - progress

2. SAHRR: Start center block ✔

3. Magnificent Mystery: Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues ✔

4. Lupine and Laughter: Press fabrics, start clues ✔

5. Wild and Goosey: Continue green blocks, start blue - progress

Not a bed week, there was progress on everything on the list.  For this week's to do list, I'm trying to reestablish a strategy that worked for me a couple of years ago. It's basically set a few priorities so that my to do list each week is only 4 or 5 items.  I like lots of variety in my sewing, but that means nothing really ever gets done.  If I want to finish any quilts this year, I need to make those a priority.

To Do List for 01/06/2026

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish February, start March blocks

The February block just needs one seam to be sewn to be a finished block.  So I'm close there.  The pieces for the March block are cut and ready for me to start on those. I'm going to try to Finish February, March and April before the end of January, then try to do 2 blocks a month till they are all done. I'm trying hard to stay ahead of things this year so I'm not panic sewing the day of the guild meeting.

2. Kate's Choice: Assemble second row

This is my to be quilted by walking foot project for the month. My plan is to switch over to my walking foot after my late night sewing session at the quilt shop and stick with that for a couple of days before switching back to my normal set up to stay on track with my piecing projects.

3. Stay at Home Round Robin (SAHRR, Quilting Gail): Finish center block

All the pieces are cut and I've got the first set of flying geese pined, ready to be stitched.  I'm excited to see how this comes together. The kick off showing all the center blocks for the designers is a week from Wednesday. So I have time, but I do need to get sewing on this one.

4. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan clues.

The stack of completed components is rising, just slowly. I should finish the October clue (the Irish Chain blocks) this week. The pieces needed for the January clue need to be cut. I'll do that this afternoon, this is the project I'm going to take to late night sew.

5. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Work on green blocks

Yes, I know the RSC color is blue this month. But after I complete these 2 blocks, just 4 more green are needed to finish off that color. So while I'm on a roll with those, I want to finish them. Hopefully I'll have time before the end of the month to finish a few blue ones.

So that's my list for the week.  I'm hoping to limit my distractions and get some good stitching done this month.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.

To Do List for the Week of 12/30/2025

Hard to believe this is the last To Do List for 2025 and the first for 2026.  I haven't really given a lot of thought to what my sewing room goals are for 2026.  Once upon a time (like a couple of years ago), I had a strategy for my To Do Lists.  When I was doing that, my impression is that I got a lot more done.  Maybe that's just wishful thinking. But I'll revisit that approach while I'm deciding on next year's goals.  Before moving on to this week's list, how many check mark's did I have on last week's list?

To Do List for 12/23/2025

1.  2026 Guild BOM: Start February block ✔
2.  Butterfly embroidery: Take a few stitches - no progress
3.  2026 SAHRR: Decide on /start center block - progress
4.  Magnificent Mystery: Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues
5.  Lupine and Laughter: Press fabrics and start clues - no progress
6.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks

Considering we had lots of family stuff last week, I didn't do too badly with the check marks and progress. Normally handwork dominates my stitching time during holidays, but I spent most of my "sewing" time deciding on an approach for the SAHRR in EQ8.  I got as far as getting my embroidery bag out, but it never made it out of the bag.

This week's list will look pretty similar to last week's.

To Do List for 12/30/25

1. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish February block, start March

The flying geese are for the border, but the HSTs are for the February block.  I have all the pieces cut for the flying geese, so I'll work those in while I'm sewing other things. It will be nice to get at least that much finished.

2. Stay at Home Round Robin (Quilting Gail): Start center block

I've picked the center block and the fabrics. The fabric collection I'm using for this year's SAHRR is left overs from a kit I bought years ago. I'm not 100% happy with my choices, but I'm working with what's left with the right yardage for how I want to put the quilt together.  It will either look fine or like a hot mess.  We'll see.

3.  Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues.

I've been working on all three sets of clues and making progress. But there are a lot of blocks in each clue, so it's not going very quickly.  Clues come out on the first Thursday of the month, so the January clue will likely drop this week too.

4. Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Press fabrics, start clues

I'm not sure that is going to happen this week, but I'll keep it on the list. I'd like to get started on this one, but I keep getting side tracked with other stuff.

5.  Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue green blocks and blue blocks

I'm close to finishing up the green blocks, but I'll switch back to blue since that's the RSC color for January at SoScrappy.  I'm hoping that this is the year I finish all the blocks. We'll see. I'm close on green, but still need lots of teal, blue and purple.

That's my list for this week. I should have more stitching time this weekend as My Girl has to head back to Texas on Saturday. I'll need lots to distract me while she's in route.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.

To Do List for the Week of 12/23/2025

I'm in the coasting portion of the Christmas holiday. The shopping is done, the presents wrapped, groceries bought (mostly). Now I can hang out with family and just chill out. There won't be any sewing room time between now and Christmas, but I'll have lots of time next weekend to decompress from the holiday with my machine.  Before getting to my probably bigger than realistic plans for next week, here is how this week went.

To Do List for 12/16/2025

1.  My Girl Trivets: Quilt the kitty trivets ✔

2.  2026 Guild BOM: Start February block - no progress

3.  Magnificent Mystery: Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues ✔

4.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks ✔

Not a bad week, three out of four items with check marks by them. With all the holiday prep in the works, the shorter list was definitely the way to go.  Since I'm hoping for some "nothing but sewing days" after the holiday, I'm going to go for a much longer to do list.

To Do List for 12/23/2025

1.  2026 Guild BOM: Start February block

The instructions are written, I just to make the block to ensure that they are correct. I have till the third week in January to get this done, but starting early is wise.  Plus, I'd really, really like to work ahead a bit so that I'm not in a bind if something happens and I can't get to my sewing room for a couple of weeks.

2. Butterfly embroidery: Take a few stitches in the current butterfly

Not sure how much I'll get done on this, but any progress would be good.

3. 2026 SAHRR (Quilting Gail): Decide on/start center block

I've played along with Stay at Home Round Robin the last 3 years. The resulting quilts are some of my family's favorites.  I wasn't going to play along this year.  I enjoy the challenge of designing a round that adds to the quilt, but it's a lot of sewing room time. After looking back at what other's did last year, I opened up Electric Quilt and played around a bit.  Out of that came a quilt that won't take endless sewing of small pieces to meet each round.  Now to figure out the fabrics and decide on the center block.

4. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues

Progress has been steady on all the clues for the last 3 months, but still aways to go to finish up these three.  At least all the component parts are made for the October clue, I just have to but them together.

5. Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Press fabrics and start clues

I'm pretty far behind on this mystery, but there is a plan.  Last Friday's clue was a block. I'm going to start with the clue for the hour glass blocks used in the block and go from there.  I very often bail on some of Bonnie's sashing and borders. So I'll start with that block and go from there on what else I decide to make for my version.  That's usually what happens in the end anyway, so I may as well start off that way.

6. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

Just need 2 more sets of 4 like this and the green blocks will be done.  Can I finish those before the end of the year?  It will be close, so maybe, maybe not.

That's my list for this week. It's ambitious, but it's the end of the year, so I'd like to see what else I can make progress on before starting on next year's goals.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday

Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season. Hope you are able to spend it with those you love.

To Do List for the Week of 12/16/2025

With the holiday just around the corner, it's not been as easy to find time to stitch. Then to top it off, my foot pedal for my machine is acting up. It mostly works, then suddenly it will stop. I fiddle with it and it starts back up.  I have found a replacement, but as we have Christmas plans, I didn't want to order it right now.  Hopefully I can limp along till January.

My sewing time this week was cut a bit short by holiday prep and a trip to see my mother.  Consequently, my to do list might as well be my didn't do list.

To Do List for 12/9/2025

1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt the kitty trivets - no progress

2. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish January block ✔

3. Magnificent Mystery: Keep working on Oct/Nov/Dec clues

4. Lupine and Laughter: Start on all released clues - no progress

5. Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks

Honestly not as bad as expected, check marks on three out of five isn't horrible.  Keeping up with the Guild BOM was my priority for last week. As long as that happened, it would be a good week.  This week's list will be a bit shorter. I've decided to just collect the clues for the Bonnie Hunter mystery this year. Maybe after Christmas, or more likely after New Year's, I'll decide to make it or not.  There is much more sewing time in January than December, so we'll see.  That means this week's list is a bit shorter than it has been.

To Do List for 12/16/2025

1. My Girl Trivet: Quilt the kitty trivets

This will be the first thing I work on when I make it to the sewing room. I'm hoping the two trivets won't take that long.  Famous last words, hopefully I'm not sabotaging myself.

2. 2026 Guild BOM: Start February block

The January block is finished and I got started on the border blocks, which are actually block 12. But as the final quilt needs so many of them, I'm giving the guild members the option to make a few each month and be ready for assembly when we get to next December.  I've got the instructions drafted for the February block. I just need to get started on it.

3.  Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Work on Oct/Nov/Dec clues

There's been at least some progress on all the clues. September is completely finished with good progress on October and November. Still a long way to go with December's clue.

4. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

There's been progress on this front, but still a number of green ones left to make. The plan was to be done in December. That might not happen, but I'm happy with the progress.

A much shorter list this week, but that fits my available time better.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday, just on Wednesday.

To Do List for the Week of 12/09/2025

It's been a busy week.  I've made some progress on Christmas preparations, but still have a bit to do on that front.  It's definitely meant less time in the sewing room. Consequently, there hasn't been much progress on my to do list from last week.

To Do List for 12/02/2025

1.  My Girl Trivets: Quilt kitty trivets - no progress
2.  2026 Guild BOM: Finish January block - progress
3.  Lupine and Laughter: Start clues 1, 2 and 3 - no progress
4.  Magnificent Mystery: Finish Oct, Start Nov/Dec - progress
5.  Old Town: Continue Quilt assembly ✔
6.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks

Two check marks, two with progress and two with no progress.  Not a horrible week, but not the best either.  There was progress, just not as much as I would like.  It's just that time of year. It amazes me that I seem even busier then when I was working.  How does that happen?  Here's this week's list. Fingers crossed I do better with it this week.

To Do List for 12/09/2025

1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt kitty trivets

This will probably take the better part of a day to do. I just need to put the walking foot back on the machine and get it done sometime this week.

2.  2026 Guild BOM: Finish January block

All the component pieces have been made for the January block and the block is being assembled.  I've also made a start on block 12 by making a few flying geese.  Why am I starting on block 12?  The final quilt has an optional flying geese border. Since it's a border, you need a lot of flying geese. So I'm going to give the guild members the option to make a few flying geese each month or wait till December to make all of them.

3. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Continue working on Oct/Nov/Dec clues

It took a bit to make all the component parts for these blocks.  I've only gotten two completely assembled.  Hopefully these will go fast.  I've started cutting the fabrics for the November and December clues.  The background is cut for both clues. I'm hoping to make better progress on all the clues this week.

4. Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Start on all the released clues

I've done nothing on this project, I'm going to be way behind at reveal time, but that's nothing new for me.  I've put Old Town in time out now that the blocks are all assembled, hopefully taking that off the list will give me time to start on this project.

5. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

Slowly, but surely the green blocks are getting made.  They probably won't be finished by the end of the year, but any progress is good progress.

That's my list for the week. In addition to stitching, I still need to put the tree up, redo the table decorations, finish shopping and wrap everything.  Not sure how much stitching I'll get done, but any progress on any front is a good thing.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday

To Do List for the Week of 12/02/2025

We pulled into the driveway at 7 PM last night after leaving My Girl's apartment at 7:30 AM yesterday morning.  That's one long day of driving.  Thankfully My Guy was able to take yesterday off so we didn't have to drive home on Sunday.  Driving through Dallas, TX the Sunday after Thanksgiving isn't for the faint of heart. We've done that a couple of times and avoid it if at all possible.  There was still a lot of traffic most of the way, but nothing like we've seen on those after the holiday Sundays.

I didn't post a to do list last week since we were away from home, All I did in Houston was hand work.  I did get a bit done on my last published to do list from November before we left.

To Do List for 11/18/2025

1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt ✔

2. 2026 Guild BOM: Start first block ✔

3. Lupine and Laughter: Start the first clue - no progress

4. Old Town: Continue quilt assembly ✔

5. Magnificent Mystery: Finish Sept, Start Oct/Nov clues - progress

6. Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks ✔

Not a bad showing for the two weeks ending with a 4 day holiday.  I'm going to need to get busy on Lupine and Laughter or I'll never catch up. (Not that I'm likely to stay that way, but we try).

What's the plan for this week?  More of the same, but hopefully with more progress this week.

To Do List for 12/02/2025

1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt kitty trivets

While we were visiting, My Girl wanted some assistance with making a new set of kitty trivets.  She's made these before so the assembly was pretty easy, but My Girl is still trying to wrap her head around the cutting instructions and wanted some additional tutoring on that aspect.  We discussed pressing instructions too.  She sewed them up and I'll quilt then bind them.  These will be a joint gift from My Girl and I.  I'm getting better with the walking foot quilting, I have some fun ideas to try on these two.

2. 2026 Guild BOM: Finish January Block

All the pieces are cut for next month's guild block. I've actually started assembly of some of the sub pieces. Hopefully I can get this done and move on to February's block. One nice thing about the week away, I was able to finish writing the instructions for several other blocks. So I'm a bit ahead on that part.

3. Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Start clues 1, 2 and 3.

There is still fabric pressing to do before I can start even clue 1.  Hopefully I can make some good progress on all the clues this week.

4. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Finish Oct, Start Nov/Dec clues

September clue is finished and I made a good start on the October clue. Hopefully I can catch up a bit this month.

5. Old Town (Bonnie Hunter): Continue quilt assembly

Two rows sewn together and the third is partially constructed.  So almost halfway there with the rows. I'll see how far I can get this week. This project may have to go into time out so I can work on the newer mysteries.  We'll see. I'd really, really like to get this to finished quilt top.

6. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue assembling green blocks

I'd like to finish up all the green blocks before the end of the year. We'll see how that goes. It's doable if I stay focused.

That's my to do list for the week.  I need to get laundry going and do a good bit on the Christmas stuff too. We'll see how much stitching I actually get done this month.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.

To Do List for the Week of 11/18/2025

It's been a busy week. I've never been fond of deadline sewing and I've had a bit of that lately.  Having something with a deadline did affect my ability to get to the rest of my to do list this week.

To Do List for 11/11/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Complete quilt top assembly ✔

2.  Old Town: Continue Assembly

3.  Magnificent Mystery: Finish Sept, Start Oct/Nov clues - progress

4.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks ✔

Three check marks out of four and progress on the 4th is a pretty good week. Especially since my number one priority got finished. I have a pretty long list this week.

To Do List for 11/18/2025

1. My Girl Trivets: Quilt

My Girl made a couple of these mushroom trivets as Christmas gifts for one of her long time BFFs.  I need to quilt these before Thanksgiving. So that's my newest #1 priority.

2.  2026 Guild BOM: Start first block

Now that the quilt top for the 2025 BOM is completed, I can focus on getting ahead on next year's blocks.  I have the instructions written, now I just need to make the first couple of blocks.

3. Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Start the first step in the mystery.

My fabrics are selected. All but the deep purple came from my stash.  The background is a blue gray marble.  I still need to wash and press the background and the dark purple. That's on the agenda for today.

4.  Old Town (Bonnie Hunter): Continue quilt assembly

I've not made as much progress with this as I had hoped. The 2025 BOM assembly took precedence.  I'm going to stick with assembly and hope that I can get it done before the end of the year.  It would be nice to get it all out of the project box.

5. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Finish Sept, Start Oct/Nov clues

The September clue is almost finished. The fabrics are cut for the October clue. Hopefully, I'll get the fabric for the November clue cut today.

6. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

I won't finish green this month, but should be on track to finish up those blocks before the end of December. That would just leave teal, blue and purple blocks to finish next year.

That's my list for this week. Linking up with The Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.

To Do List for the Week of 11/11/2025

What I suspect has been a cold hasn't quite cleared up yet.  Thankfully the sinus pressure and headache have backed off.  I'm still a bit sniffly, but at least I can mostly breathe.  I didn't much done on Saturday since I felt so crappy, but I didn't do too badly with last week's list.

To Do List for 11/04/2025

1.  2025 Guild BOM: Continue quilt top assembly ✔
2.  2026 Guild BOM: Start first block - no progress
3.  Old Town: Finish sashing pieces, start assembly ✔
4.  Magnificent Mystery: Start Sept/Oct clues - progress
5.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks ✔
6.  Lupin and Laughter: Pick fabrics ✔

Not a bad week, just one item with no progress. I did lock down the final layout options for the 2026 guild BOM.  I'm going to take a break from the 2026 BOM project and focus on the 2025 version This week's list is a bit shorter.

To Do List for 11/11/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Complete quilt top assembly

The next borders were assembled and are pinned ready to be stitched down.  There are 4 more borders, one of which is pieced from all those sawtooth star blocks.  This will be my priority this week. If all that gets done is this, then I'll be happy. I have to have it ready for next Tuesday's guild meeting.

2.  Old Town (Bonnie Hunter): Continue assembly

All the sashing strips are assembled and I've started sewing rows together.  I haven't quite finished assembling the first row of blocks and the first row of sashing.  With all the seam matching, it does take fair amount of pinning, which slows down the process. But so far so good.

3. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Finish Sept, Start Oct/Nov clues

All the HSTs are sewn, now those are being combined into the large hour glass blocks.  I'm really happy with my color choices so far.  We'll see if I feel that way once I finish the October clue.

4.  Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

I'm still working on the dark green blocks needed for the corners. There's been more progress on moving those blocks a long this week.

That's my list for this week.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday

To Do List for the Week of 11/04/2025

How are you dealing with the week days post time change (for those that live in the US where you fall back this time of year)?  I was awake at 4 this morning, I've been getting up a bit after 5 the last week to mesh with Grad Girl's schedule.  So I was right on time.

Other than dealing with Houston and Dallas traffic, the drive home yesterday was uneventful. It was just long.  I'm already missing my girl and the cat. We'll see them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I'll get my hugs and pets in then.

I didn't post a To Do List last week, partly because of computer issues and partly just not being on my regular schedule.  My last to do list is from October.

To Do List for 10/21/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Continue to assemble quilt top ✔
2. 2026 Guild BOM: Start first block - progress
3. Old Town: Finish block assembly ✔
4. Magnificent Mystery: Cut fabrics, start Sept/Oct clues - progress
5. Wild and Goosey: Continue assembly of green blocks ✔

Not bad progress for a couple of weeks.  I did struggle a bit while I was in Texas.  Though Grad Girl has a craft room, it's not fully set up.  We did a couple of runs to pick up some supplies, but it still wasn't an ideal set up.  Even so I did get in some good afternoons of stitching time.

Now that I'm home, there are chores to catch up on. But I am hoping to get back to my regular stitching time pretty quickly.  This week's list will look pretty much the same as last week's.

To Do List for 11/4/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Continue quilt top assembly

Other than adding in the December block, which I'm still contemplating doing, all the sashing pieces are added and as much as possible is stitched together. Next step is to work on stitching the pieced sawtooth star borders together.

2.  2026 Guild BOM: Start first block

Before I left for Texas, all the fabrics were pressed. I just need to start cutting the pieces for the first block.  Hopefully that will happen this week.

3.  Old Town (Bonnie Hunter): Finish sashing pieces, start assembly

The blocks are finally finished. All that's left is to finish the sashing pieces and assembly of the quilt can start. That's the plan for late night sew this week.

4. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Start Sept/Oct clues

The fabrics were pressed and the pieces cut for the September and October clues before I left for Texas. I just never got around to starting the assembly process since I was focused on getting Old Town moved along. This should also see some progress during late night sew.

5.  Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

I didn't get much done on this project while I was in Texas, so I'm hoping to hit it strong in November and get all the green blocks finished.

6.  Lupine and Laughter (Bonnie Hunter): Pick fabrics for the 2025 mystery.

Bonnie posted the fabric requirements for this year's mystery on 10/24. A bit earlier than usual.  Purple, pink and ice blue with neutrals.  Do I stick with her colors or go rouge?  I'm pretty sure I'm going to start with 75% of the blocks, I prefer a rectangular versus square quilt.  It's always fun picking fabrics for a new project.

That's my list for this week.  You can see the other lists over at To Do Tuesday hosted by The Quilt Schmilt.

To Do List for the Week of 10/21/2025

Usually my allergies give me fits early in October. But since it hasn't really cooled down till this week, whatever hits the breeze when that happens is playing havoc with my sinuses.  So I've been early to bed and slow to get moving in the morning. So I just didn't get my To Do Tuesday post written yesterday.  In spite of the crappy feeling allergies give me, I did pretty well on working through last week's list even with the early bedtimes and slow mornings.

To Do List for 10/14/2025

1.  2025 Guild BOM: Finish December, press sashing fabric ✔

2.  2026 Guild BOM: Start First block - progress

3.  Old Town: Continue making blocks

4.  Wild and Goosey: Continue making green blocks ✔

Definitely not a bad week, three check marks with progress on the last to do item.  I'm hoping to have a really good week next week as the plan is pretty much nothing but stitching during the day. My version of a solo retreat.

To Do List for 10/21/2025

1.  2025 Guild BOM: Continue quilt top assembly

The color for November is orange.  I finished all of this month's blocks a week and a half ago.  December's blocks are all done.  I pressed the sashing/border fabric and started assembly of the rows.  The quilt top has to be ready to show in December, so I'll do what I can to move this project ahead without the December blocks that will get shown at the November meeting. Every little bit of progress helps.

2. 2025 Guild BOM: Start first block

I washed all the fabrics a couple of weeks ago.  But didn't get them pressed until earlier this week. So the fabrics are ready to go. I just have to cut the pieces for the first block. That should happen this week.

3.  Old Town (Bonnie Hunter) Finish block assembly

The project bin is starting to empty of block pieces and fill up with sashing pieces. Just 2 more blocks need assembly.  About 2/3 of the sashing pieces are assembled.  I may just get the top assembled before the first clue for the 2025 mystery comes out.

4. Magnificent Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs): Cut fabrics and start Sept/Oct clues

I had to purchase the tone on tone off white because I just didn't have quite enough of my first stash choice. If I made any mistakes, I'd be hurting. So I bought a new background. After it was washed, I discovered that I was short a full yard.  Not sure what happened there, so I had to go back to the shop and buy a bit more to ensure I had enough for the quilt.  I'm hoping to get the pieces for the September and October clues cut this week.

5. Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue assembling green blocks

The pile of green blocks continues to grow.  I keep two moving while I'm doing my other piecing.  It's slow going, but it's meant that I've made consistent progress all year.  Still a long way to go, but I'm happy with the progress to date.

That's my list for this next week.  You can check out all the other to do lists over at the Quilt Schmilt.

To Do List for the Week of 10/14/2025

Since we were on vacation last week and out of town, I didn't get a lot of time in my sewing room.  I adjusted my to do list for last week accordingly.  It was pretty short.

To List for 10/7/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Finish December, press fabric - progress
2. Old Town: Piece blocks and sashing ✔
3. Wild and Goosey: Make green blocks

There was good progress on the December BOM blocks, but they aren't finished.  My priorities will be pretty much the same this week.

To Do List for 10/14/2025

1. 2025 Guild BOM: Finish December, press sashing fabric

Fingers crossed this actually happens this week. It will be a busy week, The car needs to go in for service and I have a trip planned to see my mother this week. So it won't be a nothing but stitching week.  I should have all weekend to sew though.

2. 2025 Guild BOM: Start first block

Even if all I do is get the fabric pressed, that would be progress.  I keep putting this off and I can't for much longer.  I should also be working on writing the instructions for the remaining blocks.  Maybe I'll make some progress on that while I'm waiting for the car to be serviced.

3. Old Town (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making blocks at late night sew

Working to assemble the last 5 blocks and make the sashing pieces. A third of the sashing pieces have been assembled, so good progress there. Still have quite a few left to make. Working through all these assembly steps, I can't help but admire the quilters who keep up with each step during the mystery.  Definitely makes one feel like a complete slacker sometimes. I know it's not a race, but completely admire the focus and skills it takes to keep up.

4.  Wild and Goosey (Bonnie Hunter): Continue making green blocks

The green blocks make a nice little stack. It's fun to look at all these scraps and think about the projects they went into.  Only 20 of the green blocks left to make, I'm just over half way there with this color. My plan is to work on the green till the end of the year or till I finish them.

That's my list this week. It's pretty much the same list I've had for the last few weeks.  I have to prioritize the guild BOMs for now, so that's limiting the time to work on other projects still on my list.  My goal is progress and I'm doing well on that front.  Linking up with the Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday.
