I've made it to the sewing room every day this week. At the start of each sewing session, I'd tackle one more section of the paper piecing for the first Vintage Dress block. Last night I sewed all the sections together.

The block size is a little off, but that can be fixed by floating the dress with some added sashing. So it's not perfect, but I like how it came out. I learned a few things from piecing this first block that should make the others go a bit smoother. I'm glad I only need to finish two blocks each month, this is not a fast block to make. But I think the final quilt will be cute.
I'm going to finish my coffee while checking out the rainbow of blues posted over at Soscrappy.

Beautiful paper piecing -- what a fun idea for a RSC project.
Cute dress block! Coco Chanel would be proud of you! I agree with you about January just draaaaaaaaaaaaagging, and even made a reference to that in my post. February can't come fast enough!

The dress was worth the effort. It looks ready for a prom, love the print panel. Keep up the good work!
I LOVE this block! Will all your rainbow vintage dresses be the same pattern or different styles?
It's adorable! Can't wait to see an entire quilt made of these blocks.
Absolutely Stunning!!
Your block is amazing - and I'm sure the finished quilt will be, too!
OH so very cute! Definitely worth the extra time, and sure to get quicker with practice. Even with paper piecing, it is still possible to chain piece. Looking forward to seeing all the colors on this quilt.
Your dress is super cute but it does look like a somewhat challenging block to make. It will be fun to see more dresses as the year continues.
