To Do Tuesday for Week of 11/9/2021

Moving back to standard time is always a bit of a downer.  It's now light when we leave for work, but it's full dark by the time we head home.  It always takes me a few weeks to wrap my mind and my sleep schedule around the change.

So far November has been pretty conductive to finding stitching time. I finished off my to do list in one week for a change.

Weekly To Do List for 11/2/2021
  • Cabins and Fans: Prep backing for quilting
  • Macaron Mystery: Make flying geese for step 4
  • Unity: Make flying geese for step 8

I kept the list pretty simple and short to fit my current schedule.  That worked pretty well. So we'll repeat that approach for this week.

Weekly To Do List for 11/9/2021

Cabins and Fans: Prep quilt top for quilting

The black used for the sashing and setting blocks doesn't unravel too badly so I'm hoping for a pretty quick and easy de-threading.  It would be nice to have this project done by the end of the year.

Macaron Mystery:  Make flying geese for steps 4 and 5

I'm about half way done with step 4 and just got started on step 5. Hopefully both steps will be completed by the end of the month. Then I'll be caught up.

Unity: Make flying geese for step 8

There are 20 pieces per block. That's a lot of stitching. It's not likely that Unity is going be a finished quilt top by the end of the year.  It took me the better part of 2021 to finish off the twenty something blocks for step 7.  But at least there has been steady progress on the project.  I'm hoping all the efforts this year will result in some nice finishes next year.

That's my list for this week, short and simple.  Linking up with Texas Quilt Gal for To Do Tuesday.  Good luck with your to do's this week.

Hi Kate! Time change IS such an adjustment, isn't it! Looking forward to seeing Cabins and Fans quilted. Twenty is a lot of pieces for one block, but Unity is so pretty.
Thank you for linking to To Do Tuesday!

I must be one of the few who are not affected by time change in the fall - I stayed up late on Saturday night and I woke up the same time as usual and continue to do so now. I like it light in the morning when I wake up and usually in the winter I am not out in the evening all that much because of cooler temperatures so it doesn't bother me that it gets dark early

Having a short To Do list probably keeps you much better focused than my long list. I just love that black print you are using in Unity. Those little pops of color are great. All of your projects just have some wonderful color choices.

That's great that your black isn't raveling too badly - some solid fabrics are terrible that way! A short and sweet list of to-dos is a great idea. Have a good week, Kate!

Hi Kate! I have a hard time adjusting to the time change. I still wake up at 4:30 am which is now 3:30 am. Then I lay there for an hour, waiting for the furnace to kick in and alarm to go off. GEEZ! And it's dark so dang early - 4:30 and it's pitch here. Steady progress on Unity is a good thing. Those blocks look so pretty! I've been a fan of the fabric all along but seeing how they play together makes it even better. Take care! ~smile~ Roseanne

Not a fan of the time change—my state voted two years ago to end this but it hasn’t been passed by the senate. You’re doing a very good job meeting your short term goals and will have some lovely quilts to show for it.
