In spite of the productive week, I'm still a month behind on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks. I finished off June's teal Twinkle Star blocks earlier this week.
Twinkle Stars, Tutorial by Andrea Feldbush of Soscrappy |
There is only one star completed using July's color red.
So I'm still a month behind with the challenge. Hopefully now that all the vacation and business travel is over, I'll have a chance to get caught up this month. August's color is indigo for the sampler quilt, but Angela gave the option to use black as this month's color. My plan is to use black and gray for August's Twinkle Star blocks.
But first there's laundry and a work report to finish up this morning. Hopefully there will be some time this evening to at least pick out the fabrics for August's Twinkle Star blocks.

Summer does reduce our sewing time....... Looks like you are getting so much done in spite of the interruptions.
Way to go! Your blocks are gorgeous.
More gorgeous Twinkle Stars! Hope you get a chunk of time for quilting later today.
Slowly but surely you are catching up. Hope that the end of summer brings some more time in the sewing room. Congratulations on finishing Grand Illusion! Huge accomplishment!
Even though you are behind in the color of the month your blocks are awesome. It will be worth the time.
Take your time, you will catch up and will enjoy the journey.
Lovely red block, Kate. There's always so much going on in summer, I think we all have to struggle to keep up with sewing projects.
These blocks are perfectly named... they really do twinkle and sparkle!
I just love the way the main colour hugs the little saw tooth star. Such wonderful colour choices - just beautiful!
Your Twinkle Star look fabulous! Good luck catching up with the challenge this month.
Good job with those blue block. I really love the spread of twinkle stars on your design wall. Very lively with movement but not overpowering. Each star is special.
Love the stars! Can't go wrong with red polka dots. Going to be a great quilt!
Love these stars and seeing them in all their scrappy delight every month!
Hope you got your laundry & report done so you could play in the sewing room this afternoon. The polka dots give great movement to that twinkle star. Can't wait to see the newest stars when you catch up.
Stunning quilt!
I hope you got some stitching time in this afternoon. I really like the red one that you put together.
You could flash these star blocks every day and I'd be happy. As a matter of fact, I'd sit by the computer waiting for your post... 8)
What a splendid quilt - I would never have the patience (not to mention the skill!) to do this kind of thing - I just push buttons on my camera!

It really is so hard to balance everything! Life definitely gets in the way of quilting sometimes, but you certainly have made great progress. Love the red star - perfectly pieced! Can't wait to see the others.
I have great faith that you'll be caught up soon. Honestly, it isn't a race and if your behind, you'll get there as time permits. Have you done the color challenge before? I'm a challenge drop out from last year. The ones I did became a UFO. I'll get them out some time in the future. Keep up the great work. B

The way you have used your colours in Twinkle Star really does make a twinkle!
Beautiful blocks. Take your time. I'm a bit behind myself. Using black, gray and white this month, too.
