The Design Wall this Week

It cooled off for the weekend, but it was mostly cloudy and a bit rainy over both days.  It was nice weather to hang out in the sewing room.  Who am I kidding, I'd say any weather is a good time to be in the sewing room, except maybe during severe thunderstorms.

There was good progress on the stash organization.  I did spend some time on assessing my storage spaces in the sewing room, then moved a few things.  If I can mostly clear another shelf, the remaining wire cubes can be used to make room for more fabric.

The fat quarter sets and fat quarter storage boxes need to find a new space. I'm still considering my options there.

I did actually sew, but all that's up on the design wall is Indigo Way.

The rows in the top half are sewn together, the rows for the bottom half are in progress. Indigo Way isn't my favorite Bonnie Hunter mystery, but I like how this one is coming together.  If it's a finished quilt top by the end of August I'll be thrilled. It's always nice to finish the piecing before before the next mystery.  I've only managed that a couple of times. So many of my UFO's are BH mysteries (6 including Indigo Way).

Linking up with Monday Design Wall and Patchwork & Quilts.

Have you found any forgotten treasures in the process? Your Indigo Way looks very promising. (I made all the blocks. They are in a box.)

I have found I don't like to do mystery quilts!! Your Indigo Way is lovely!! I do save all the info so that I can make them, if I like the final project, but I usually have so many others in the queue, that I don't. But one of these days I might!!

Your storage space looks so much more organized than mine. The boxes with the little windows are quite clever. Most of the BH mysteries have been UFOs for quite awhile, and some I never made at all. But I do usually play with the blocks each time.

Indigo Way looks so good on the design wall - it's worth it to keep it going! Your storage space is looking good, too. I would definitely want to play with those bundles up top there!

I’m all for anything that makes room for more fabric. Indigo Way is looking fantastic!

Your stash organization is looking really good - things are very tidy now. I hope you can find a good solution for the fat quarter storage boxes. And Indigo Way is coming together really well. How exciting to think you might have the quilt top complete before the next mystery starts!

Your Indigo Way is stunning! I follow a similar mantra as my goal is to have the previous one finished before the next mystery begins! Bonnie's quilts have so many pieces. My piecing has become more accurate since playing along.

Good luck on the organizing and here's hoping you get a finished top by the end of next month. I like how it's looking!

Making room for more fabric is the quilter's way - go for it! Indigo Way is very pretty on your wall.

Indigo Way is looking pretty good. Keep getting the blocks made and added to the rest. Is that last year's quilt? I've got a really old one half finished in my quilt closet. I don't plan to finish it anytime soon. Although I have a recipient in mind. Sigh....
