Weekend Stitching: The Small Design Wall

Today starts the last week of high school for Drama Teen. She's got finals all week.  Physics is Wednesday, that's the one she's really dreading.  The last day of school is Thursday.  We're hosting the annual end of school year party and sleep over that day.  The graduation quilts will be gifted then.  I've got my fingers crossed that they are liked.  I put the last stitches into The First Amendment Quilt binding last night.  Pictures have to get taken this afternoon.  It needs to be wrapped up tonight as it will be gifted on Tuesday during the journalism end of year party.  Nothing like taking it down to the wire, but they are all done!  Now I'm ready to play with some non-deadline stuff for awhile.

I've been working on getting the final borders on the Meadow Mist Mystery quilt.  It's been taking up space on the big design wall.  The next to last border is pinned on ready for stitching, so at the moment that project is laying by the machine.  But there is stuff up on the small design wall.  This month's UFO project is the Christmas Angels quilt started back in 2013.

All the pieces for the alternate blocks were in the project box when I pulled it off the shelf.  The path of least resistance was to start assembling these blocks.  Before I started on the assembly, I did end up tweaking the final quilt design just a bit which meant cutting new centers for these blocks.  The plan is to make progress with this project this month, it will probably not get finished.  But moving it along is better than not.

The other project up on the small design wall is block 7 of EnProvence.

En Provence, A Bonnie Hunter Mystery (2016)

EnProvence is my current leaders and enders project.  I'll start sewing this block together this week.  I'm hoping there is enough fabric to make 12 blocks, so I'm just at the halfway mark with this project.  The plan is to finish it before then next mystery starts.

Oh my gosh! Can you believe graduation is here already?? It's been so fun to watch you make those grad quilts over the last year and now you have them finished - yay!! I bet it's fun to work on a 'just because' project. :) Congrats to DT!!

I love your colors for En Provence! Can't wait to see it all together.

I'm sure you're eager to get Meadow Mist assembled and finished! The Christmas blocks are promising--I searched your previous posts but can't tell what the blocks are part of (just those, or a more complicated pattern?). And I do like the ice-crystal-cool En Provence.

Sounds like I need another design wall, I like the idea of having two! Looks like you are making progress this week! Thanks for participating in Desgn Wall Mondays.

An "end of the year" party. Sounds like fun. You're right about working on a project being much better than not doing anything. Even 10 minutes a day can bring progress.
