I love the holidays, but the associated extras do cut into my sewing time. This weekend there was shopping, figuring out this year's Christmas card and getting a start on the photos for the family calendar. I did manage a bit of time here and there to stitch a few triangle in a square blocks for En Provence.
There a few more blocks over at the sewing machine with one half of the square added. I did finish another 10 of the 4-patches
So I'm up to 20 of those after the weekend. I would like to say there will be more time for stitching this week, but probably not. Holiday prep is in full swing here. I braved the attic (found a dead bird, which wasn't at all fun) to get the tree and lights. So that much got done.
Drama Teen usually has a friend over to help her put the ornaments on the tree. That will probably happen one night this next week. I'll add a few of my favorites, but I just didn't get that far yesterday. Thankfully the ornaments are in my closet not the attic.

It is a busy time of year, carving out sewing time can be difficult. Your blocks look wonderful.
There's no pressure for me to get our Christmas tree up because we usually do it less than a week before Christmas.

Eek! A dead bird? I would expect to find mice, squirrels, or even raccoons in mine so I always go in stealthily. Great progress on your mystery. How do you get the blue glow under your tree?
Sewing will keep us sane during the busy holidays as it looks like it did for you this weekend. A little progress is better than none...your tree is cute!
Congrats on getting your tree up - mine is still waiting for me to do something with it. Those triangle blocks look great. I've only tried sewing angles once and it wasn't a positive experience. :)
Your parts are looking awesome! I keep feeling the pull to join in on this Bonnie Hunter QAL but then I remind myself of how long my WIP list is.
All your sewing is coming along fine--
I also got my tree up last night and the lights and garland on it--
I usually wait until later in the month to decorate it--I just enjoy looking at it as is for awhile--
love and laughter, di
This time of year, every little bit counts! I bet as long as you do a few of the pieces for the mystery quilt each week, then you'll still know how to do them when you get back to it later! Your tree is so pretty!
Love the name of your blog -- Life in Pieces. This time of the year, it sure seems like that, doesn't it? A little bit here and there is better than nothing at all. The dead bird wouldn't thrill me either! Blech. Wendy at piecefulthoughts@gmail.com
Your tree is divine...as are your units for #2..so rich.
Funny I have just been looking at triangle in a square blocks, yours are lovely, gorgeous purple, even though I'm not a purple person. Your tree is looking lovely, you are further on than me, good luck with the rest of your preparations.
I really like your Christmas and your blocks are looks great!
