Week 15 of 2015: Stash Report and Some Slow Stitching

It was nice to be home over the weekend with no place we have to be.  Laundry isn't quite under control yet, but the remaining piles aren't quite so menacing.  I got a bit behind when we took off to Branson, MO for Spring Break and then a week later headed back to Missouri to celebrate Easter.  I picked up a new project at work right after we got home from Spring Break that has some very tight deadlines, so there have been a number of 12 hour days in my schedule.

All of that has conspired to limit my sewing room time pretty severely.  But I was able to get in some decent stitching time yesterday so I actually have something to report as outgoing for this week.

Used last week:  0.28 yards
Used in April:  0.28 yards
Used year to date:  11.58 yards

Even better, still no stash additions for 2015.  I've been ruthless about deleting all the fabric shop emails and even passed up a chance to visit my favorite quilt shop when we were in Missouri for Easter.  My family was in shock that I turned down that opportunity.  I'm really trying to make some type of dent in the stash this year.

Though I've not had a lot of time to sew when I've been home, traveling did give me an opportunity to work on some hand stitching.  I've made some progress on my embroidered medallion quilt.

I started this project in 2012, I'm going to need to kick it into gear if I hope to ever finish it.

The sun is up, so I need to get back to those piles of laundry.  Too bad clothes don't wash them selves.

The day they make an automatic washer like the robotic vacuum, I will be in line for one. Your handwork looks interesting. Good luck with your work projects.

Great job staying away from the those quilt stores, not an easy task. Hopefully it gives you more time to work on your lovely wip. Stitch by stitch it will get done.

So pretty, Kate. I invite you to link up to WIPs Be Gone to keep that progress happening. Nothing like having to report in to make us pick up a needle. Ends Monday, midnight.

I like your embroidery pattern. My quilt bucket list includes a cross stiched quilt but I may never get it done. Good luck with the laundry and work week.

My grandmother made a cross stitched quilt for my husband and I when we got married. Enjoy your stitching time this week.
