Where did the last week go? My Guy and I were talking about that last night. Nothing special in the schedule this week, but considering that Drama Teen has something going every weeknight we still did a lot of running.
We took Friday off and I spent it in the sewing room. Not all of it was stitching time. I made the label for Mon Ami. I hope to get the binding sewn to the front of that quilt today and then work to get it sewn to the back before the end of the month. It would be nice to start the year off with a finish. Work continued on Celtic Solstice and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler so there is some fabric out. But as I mentioned last week, Connecting Threads brought back their Rhapsody of Reds line this year. I didn't buy it last year and then kicked myself that I hadn't. So I broke down and bought some of both Rhapsody of Reds and Rhapsody of Blues.
I bought some yardage to go with the fat quarters and that's what is really going to hurt the stash report. My favorites from this collection are these two.
No idea what I'm going to make with these two fabric lines, but I'm sure something will come up where these fabrics will be just perfect.
So here's the stash report.
Used last week: 0.92 yards
Added last week: 26.5 yards
Used for 2014: 1.53 yards
Added for 2014: 26.5 yards
Net stashed: 24.97 yards
If I don't buy anything else, I should be back in the black before mid year. I've been deleting all the fabric shop news letters to avoid any more temptation. I do love both of these fabric lines and Connecting Threads prices are really reasonable, so I'm not at all sorry they got added to the stash. I just need to work really hard at getting some of the older fabrics out so I can make room for the new.
Check out how everyone else is faring with their own stash battles over at Patchwork Times.

The red and blues are great additions. I bought some of the red the first time it came out. Plus it is still made in America. It really does seem as though someone has taken 3-4 hours out of each day, making the days, weeks, months disappear so much quicker than a few years back.
Oh my gosh -- the red and blue additions are fabulous--especially the paisley looking pair! Yeah, I can surely see why you weren't passing those up! I can't wait to see what you decide to use them for! This past week was a crazy one and did fly by...I just think this is my new norm. LOL! :)
I think Connecting Threads fabric has gotten so much better, and the price is still reasonable. I look every time. It is these darned short days that make the days fly by....I can pack more into a summer day that ends after 8pm...winter days end around 5pm. Same 24 hours by it is just not the same!
Thanks goodness I don't get their catalog! I would have fallen for those collections, too.
I don't blame you for the purchase - I love my blues! And that is the best print. I need to look through my tops and find something that I can justify backing with the red one.
I don't blame you for those purchases either, the red circle design is fabulous.
Glad I didn't see those fabrics! I'd most certainly have snagged them up, too. Beautiful! Can't wait to see what you make with them. Happy Stitching!
Very pretty fabrics. I don't want to do stash report because I am not sure I really want to know how much fabric I have. Good luck on finding just the right project for the fabrics.
That blue medallion fabric is utterly gorgeous. I probably would have broken down and bought some of that too.
Sensible idea buying yardage at the same time. Now you have enough fabrics for fronts and backs when you decide what you're going to do with these lovelies!
Those two collections are sooooo pretty! Those two prints are my faves, as well. And the backings, too - they are so pretty. I made myself settle with the red charm pack but I was sooo tempted!!
love both the reds and the blues and can see why you made the decision. it will be fun to see what you decide to do with these pretty fabrics~!
wishing you a good week.

Love Love the reds. I actually thought when I first looked at it that it was a pieced quilt. just those thin stripes look so effective.
Avoiding the retailers is the best way forward! I don't go anywhere near the chain store (it's way over the other side of town and out of my way so avoiding it is not hard) and I never look at retailers online so, so far, keeping the stash under control is easy. My goal is not so much "none in" as it is "get some out".
Your new fabrics are very pretty.
Fabulous fabric xxx
