Since it is the last day of the month, it's time to link up with Cat Patches and show off any NewFOs that got started this month.
So far this month seems to be the month of the scraps. I finished the first block of my 2014 Rainbow Scrap Challenge project.

I was having so much fun with my blue scraps that starting the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler project seemed like a really good idea.

I've got the first 5 blocks completed and number 6 is lying by the sewing machine. It's rare for me to start more than one project a month, usually there just isn't time. But all those blue scraps were out of the drawers and sorted in piles on the floor. They were just begging to be used in something.
That's the new stuff going on in the sewing room for this month. I haven't decided yet if there will be a NewFO started in February. Most likely there will be, it's just too much fun to start new stuff.

Love the block. I have a special fondness for blue and white. Nice job!
love the inverted star. YOu could do some great quilting in the centre xx
you are working with my favorite color family!
love the blocks! i'm with you, it's too much fun to start something new
Great use of scraps Kate. Love the look of multiple fabrics! They go beautifully together too.
That inverted star block made me drool a little! I can only imagine it in the various colors provided this year!!!!!!!!
Love your block. Blue always calls to me. Happy quilting.
Beautiful blue blocks!
That star is beautiful, I really like inverted stars. Isn't it fun using up lots of scraps, I can get lost in them.
I, too, have a special fondness for blue and white. It always reminds me of my Grandmother's China and having special tea with her! It's also very romantic and dreamy. Pretty block!!! :)
Look at you go. I love traditional star blocks. A good choice for your scrappy.
So many pretty blues! Good job!
I agree starting new stuff is too much fun; at least I can use learning new techniques as an excuse for starting a new project this year -- last year I was too hard on myself to get things finished (which I didn't do very well!)
