I did keep up my stitching time, over the holiday. I'd get going on my handwork just before bed and get in a few stitches, just enough to get in my 15 minutes.
I filled in quite a bit of the lower wing. It doesn't look like much, but there were a lot of thread changes.
The only other thing I worked on while we were in Texas was finishing up the design and starting to write up the documentation/instructions for the 2025 Guild BOM. The member who has done the BOM for the last 12 years wanted a break this year. She's done some wonderful designs over the years. But 12 years is a long time to have a block ready each month. I'm trying something different from what she's done. Not sure it will go over well so we'll see how that goes.

So sorry you had such a nasty drive home. Keeping those guild exchanges fresh and fun is a challenge, so I'm looking forward to what you come up with.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Aren't Renaissance Fairs fabulous. Unfortunately ours was mid summer and it was beastly hot. Great job keeping up with the stitching. Traffic can be the pits. Luckily our trip to and from T-Day was easy peasy. But then we only drive an hour -- and it took even less time than that this year.
Welcome home; although slow I'm glad it was a safe trip home. Having a bit of hand stitching to take with you is a great way to keep your stitching time going (and I'm so impressed you have been able to do it every day so far this year). I look forward to seeing what you develop for your guild's BOM.
the Renaissance fair sounds wonderful. I would love to see things like that.
So glad you had a good time with Grad Girl for Thanksgiving, in spite of the traffic! That butterfly is beautiful - it should count for lots of stitching time. Is Grad Girl still able to find time for her embroidery projects? I always admire the pretty design she works on!
Fortunately heavy traffic was the problem. The huge snowfall in the northeast really snarled travelers' plans. It's quite a haul from Dallas to Brenham! (I know because I lived there.)
Glad you got home safely. You are doing well with your 15 minutes a day challenge! Gail at the cozy quilter
Your butterfly is so pretty. The Renaissance Fair looks like fun.
We had a drive like that on the Sunday after Thanksgiving several years ago, and it was awful. The Renaissance Festival looks like fun, and I'm loving your butterfly embroidery. I can't wait to see what you come up with for the guild BOM. Will you share it on your blog too?
Love your butterfly. Glad you had a good time in Texas (except for the roads). When we first moved to south Texas, the Renaissance festival was a novelty for about two seconds, then it was just a traffic nuisance - lol!
whoosh - that's a long drive, Sounds like a great time tho! Hope you'll share what you are going to do - Sound intriguing!
