Just Odds and Ends Sewing

There was good progress this week, but it's the kind of progress that's not very photogenic.  For example, the payment for quilting on Storm at Sea got mailed last week, so I should see it back here ready to trim and bind by the end of the week.  Along the same lines, I finished the final pressing and clean up of the 2019 Christmas Mystery Quilt.

2019 Christmas Mystery designed by Carrie Randall (Quilter's Hideaway)

The top is now all folded up and boxed up for shipment to Trudy for quilting.  Not exciting photographically, but it's pretty exciting getting one more quilt that much closer to being finished.

Unity is up on the big design wall.

Unity, 2020 Bonnie Hunter Sew-In-Place Quilt Along

The second step 4 border is attached. I had to cut more triangles before continuing with block assembly.  So this project doesn't look much different than it did last week.

The only other progress has been on getting the quilt label ready for Storm at Sea.

I asked My Guy to help with the name for the quilt, he said the quilt reminded him of a quiet stream or river.  I may tweak the name and the label a bit before it get's printed, but this is close to final.

That's it for my quilty activities for the last week.  Linking up with Monday Design Wall and Monday Making.

One of these days I am going to make beautiful labels, one of these days. For now I just need to put one of my garment labels on the back and call it done! LOL

Looking good. My pile of unfinished quilts is getting shorter too. It is a good feeling. Your label is very pretty.

I agree that getting projects nearer to completion is wonderful. I like your mock up of your label. Any chance of giving us more info on how you make the label? I’m thinking of what program you use to design it, how you print it, what fabric you use and any hints about making your beautiful label. I used to be good about labeling quilts but have pretty much stopped doing them for several years.

The label looks great and I look forward to seeing how the quilting came together. I hope you have a good week.

Very satisfying to get that much closer to real quilts! I love your version of Bonnie's quilt, it's growing nicely with your plan.

Your quilt label is very photogenic! Can't wait to see that Christmas quilt all finished because the little glimpse we can see is adorable.

I too am bad about doing labels on my quilts--shame on me!
I love and have loved your labels for a while now--this one is really really pretty!!
and to update you a bit on Nascar--that darn Harvick just won his 9th race this year!!! and my little guy Wm Byron would of made the the top 12, but some car slowed way down right in front of the 95 car and so Wm ran into the back of him and destroyed his car--out of the three--only Wm car was too damaged to continue--poor kid!!
and this morning they announced who will be in the 42 car next year--Ross Chastin--I know that Kyle Larsen has done everything and then some to be able to return to Nascar--but not sure if or when he will--he is doing alot of the smaller midget/dirt type racing!! I am still waiting to see who will be in the 48 car next year???? and there is at least 2 X-finity drivers who should be in cup next year-but where they will go is ???? OH and Denny Hamlin is starting up his own cup team and I think that Bubba will be driving the car--watch out Nascar!!!
ok--time to get back to work (oh and Kyle Busch as still not won a race this year in cup!!!!!)
luv, di

I like the idea of a flowing stream to describe your pretty storm at sea :)

You have such unique labels. You are really getting a lot done this year. I can't wait to see how Trudy quilted the Storm at Sea.
