Stitching Stuff: Week 32 of 2020

We took some time off work this week, mainly to hang with the Scientist in Training. She heads back to college Monday. It's been a nice 4 day weekend.  We've done some virtual shopping, went out for donuts, ordered take out from her favorite places in town, and just hung out together as a family.  So it's been a nice weekend.  I've been able to work in a good amount of stitching time as well. How are you doing at fitting in 15 minutes of stitching time each day?

My week wasn't perfect.

  • 15 minute days/week = 6/7 days
  • 15 minute days/August = 7/8 days
  • 15 minute days/2020 =  195/221 days
  • Success rate = 88.24%

I missed one day this week due to exhaustion.  I didn't sleep well one night and I was just about useless the next day. Thankfully that doesn't happen very often. But what I lost in that one evening, I made up for by getting to stitch most of Thursday.

My sister gave me a new addition for my sewing room last month. I finally got around to taking  pictures.

A beautiful new pincushion.  The back is just as pretty as the front.

It's almost too pretty to use.  It's a bit big for my sewing table, so I'm still looking for someplace in the sewing room to display her.  I probably need to do a major clean up and reorganize.

How's it going in your sewing room? Are you finding time to fit in at least 15 minutes of playing with needle and thread?

Such a pretty pincushion. It's so ornate. I would be afraid to use it. LOL

That is an amazing pin cushion! How lovely. Good luck cleaning up your space for her. Thanks for hosting these. Hope you are fully recovered.

Glad you got some good times with your daughter before she's off to school--scary times to be in school!

Wishing you luck with cleaning up the back of the quilt top and keeping your focus forward with your sewing plans.

Cute pincushion---that is a lot of work!

The pin cushion is very pretty. I admit I don't use a lot of my pin cushions they end up being for show, or stuffed in a cupboard. One good thing to come out of Covid has mean that we have spent more time with our teenagers, though one of them nearly isn't a teenager any more. Though it has meant that Maestro takes over the big screen TV to watch footy when he is home.

Such a pretty pin cushion!!!! I hope you find a great place for her, though I'd also find her too pretty to use for pins.
