It's been awhile since I've linked up with Val's Quilting Studio for the Tuesday Archives.
Most of the time I just don't have appropriate archival subject matter to blog about, but probably just as often there hasn't been the time to write the post. Since I'm off work this week, I was able to do a bit of digging into the blog archives. Unfortunately there are no log cabin quilts in any of my posts. The only place any log cabin blocks make an appearance on the blog is as a border in a medallion quilt.
The pattern is Back to Square One by Judy Laquidara who blogs at Patchwork Times. This was a mystery BOM she hosted in 2013. There is one more border that includes log cabin blocks mixed with friendship star blocks. I finished a few of those star blocks before this quilt got put away in favor of working on Bonnie Hunter's 2013 mystery quilt. The last post noting any progress dates from December 2, 2013, so this quilt is definitely on the UFO list.
Back to Square One is probably the closest to being finished of all my UFOs; so it's a candidate for my 2015 UFO hit list. But I have 10 UFOs that are older on the list as well. So I'm trying to decide between focusing on the older ones first or working on the ones closest to being completed. How do you decide which UFOs to work on?
That's it for me today. Check out Val's Quilting Studio for more archival fun.

That is a great quilt! I think it is log cabinish - ;-) How to pick which UFO to work on? The one that is in front of me, until I see another..... ( no help right?)
Oooh, that's a pretty one! I remember it, and love the borders. Picking a UFO? Um...sometimes the one that is closest to being done. Sometimes the one I just feel like working on. Sometimes the one I just want done!
This is beautiful! You definitely need to finish it up in 2015. I am visiting from Tuesday Archives.
I LOVE the log cabins in the border. That really sets this one off. That is much to pretty to be left undone. Love it.
I remember you blogging about this one, and it is going to be a beauty! I KNOW you can get it done in 2015!
That quilt is so pretty with the colors you chose. I like to mix up UFO projects so it isn't all piecing or shuffling blocks. The nearly done deserve a chance too :)
What a totally exquisite quilt. I have never done any quilting myself but I'm totally blow away by the lovely creations that other talented folk produce. All the best for a Happy and creative New Year, Bonny
Beautiful quilt! Love the color combo.
Happy New Year, Kate!
Love the look of the Log Cabin border. To be honest, I work on whatever project I feel like working on at the time --only deadlines force me to work on something specifically, like the quilts I have to finish for the Airing in April.
