Poinsettias Allure designed by Judy Blok from the December 2013 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting |
I subscribe to a lot of quilting magazines, but rarely make a pattern from them. So the Let's Book it Challenge hosted by Vrooman's Quilts was an obvious way to encourage me to make a few projects from all those magazines and books which are gathering dust just sitting on the book shelf. Poinsettias has been my leaders and enders project for the last month. Since I've not been sitting at the sewing machine much the last couple of months, there's not much progress.
Nineteen of the 76 half square triangle blocks are done. At this rate, Poinsettias may end up being my only "book it" pattern this year. Well, probably not, I've got a few other projects picked out that use patterns or books. I just need to finish a few projects so there is room to start something new.
Check out all the other challenge projects posted over at Vrooman's Quilts.

But it is a start on what looks like a beautiful project. Thank you for linking up.
Your quilt is going to be beautiful!
Love those beautiful pops of red. One quilt from a book is better than no patterns used from a book or magazine!
The colours are lovely, and as every one has already said. 19 blocks is better than none at all. And it is good to use those mags.
It is looking great and keep going. Will be nice to see it finished.
You made a beautiful choice of design to work on and your fabric is pretty. It's going to be beautiful.
Great choice! Isn't this a fun challenge?

It is not a race so enjoy the process , the pattern is lovely and you are doing a great job .
What you have done looks amazing!
A great start and that's the only way to get to the finish! This one will be a real beauty in the end!
