In the sewing room my main focus has been on getting the blocks for the Guild BOM done before the meeting next week. I can't show those till after the meeting, so they aren't up on the design wall this week.
Since I need my regular sewing foot for the BOM blocks, there has been no progress on Kate's Choice, so it's not up on the design wall either.
What is up on the design wall?
I've been working on Old Town, the 2024 Bonnie Hunter mystery. It's fun to see the secondary pattern the blocks make when they are up on the design wall. Bonnie used pieced sashings for this project and I'm going to make those as well, just haven't gotten that far yet. The pieced sashing use more of the teal fabric and I definitely want to include more of that in this quilt. Still lots of blocks to make before I get to making the sashing pieces.
I've assembled 7 of the 25 blocks so far. My goal is to have this into a finished quilt top before the next mystery kicks off in November. If I keep working on it at late night sew, I'll at least get close.
That's it for my design wall this week. Linking up with Design Wall Monday and Patchwork & Quilts.

I just love the pretty teal fabric in those blocks, - my eye is drawn to the design on it every time you post it. Glad your allergies "might" be easing. Looks like your area might get some rain this morning. Oklahoma has had a wet summer!
I like your blocks, I can see the design! Bonnie's quilts are normally so busy I can't see the design. Happy stitching!
Old Town is coming along nicely! Thank heavens for Kleenex (not having to rely on cloth hankies during allergy season).
That is looking great up on your design wall.
Old Town is looking good! I'm sure adding in the sashing pieces - especially more of the teal fabric, will change the look again. That will be fun to see!
The Old Town blocks look very nice. You have a ways to go to finish up by November!! My solution to this problem seems to be to make the mystery only once every two years. Gives me plenty of time to finish up the last one! I've made 3 of them so far. I start out strong but then gradually fall behind. It's inevitable!!
nice colors! you are moving along on it
The fabrics that you chose for this quilt, Kate are spectacular! I look forward to watching it grow. Have a lovely week. Hugs.
I do like that secondary pattern. Fun. Sorry about the allergies. I’m surprised ours weren’t worse when we got home with all the blooming grasses. We seem to have eradicated the Timothy grass, and that is the worst.
Good for you making progress on Old Town. Are you doing Cheryl's new mystery. I've finally figured out my fabrics and the background although I need to get it washed also. Maybe tomorrow. Glad the allergies are abating. My PA suggested my slight congestion might be a small allergy to our dog. Ok, don't like that idea!
Absolutely beautiful colors. It looks amazing and I encourage to enjoy the process and make more wonderful blocks.
Those blocks have so many pieces! They look good, but I get what you mean about needing more teal. It's going to be a stunning quilt.
Lovely blocks and beautiful colors. Your quilt is coming along nicely! Thank you for sharing.
That is quite stunning!!!
