Stitching Stuff: Week 22 of 2025

My plan to concentrate on mostly hand work paid off this week.  I was a bit more motivated to get in my 15 minutes each day.

  • 15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
  • 15 minute days/May = 29/31 days
  • 15 minute days/2025 = 144/151 days
  • Success rate = 95.36%

All of my stitching this week has hand work. I've had to relearn how to do counted cross stitch.  It's been decades since I've tried my hand at that. I ended up making a big counting error and had to rip out a lot of stitches.  A stronger pair of cheater glasses helped and I'm back on track (at least I think I am).  There's not a bunch of progress after all the ripping, definitely nothing to post about yet.

Sewing room mojo seems to be on the slide for several of my blogging buddies. How is yours doing?

I'm actually thinking about not doing the treadmill this morning and just hanging around in sewing room today. My batting finally came for the wedding quilt, so I need to get that sandwiched and ready for some marathon quilting!

The end of the school year tends to be pretty stressful for a variety of reasons. This year sewing 15 minutes each day seemed to keep me grounded. However, I can feel it slipping this weekend. I want to finish what I have started, but I am not actively thinking of what's next and that's unusual for me.

I always appreciate the opportunity to do some hand stitching in the evenings when there hasn't been time for any quilting or piecing during the day. Glad you're reorienting yourself to the counted cross-stitch process! Being away from home for the week has me excited to get back at it - the Glowing Hearts need their borders!

Hand sewing is the perfect project for a short stitching session. You did well with your week's number. Fingers cross my week will be good too.

Mojo was down with all of the outside things I was doing over the last few weeks. But I am highly motivated by goals so doing the 15 mins of stitching each day keeps me going!

In no time you will be back into the swing of things in cross stitch. This year my stitching mojo has been in the dumps, but my quilting mojo is at full swing. It goes back and forth. You will find your spark soon. Hugs.
